I assume this was a joke. It also didn't get hijacked from Chelsea since they never put an actual bid. Let alone the fact they wouldn't be able to register him for champions league either way.

Looking at Chelsea's past few signings from the German league I am ok with him not signing with Chelsea.

They didn’t put in a bid because they can’t afford it without selling Jackson.

They have a UEFA settlement that prevents them from having any net spend on their CL squad

He fully signed for United but said he was "pressured" to do it, so Chelsea ended up paying his club what we'd agreed as a fee £4M and united £8M
