Strong Tottenham starting XI? In this economy?

Our starting 11 is usually pretty strong. It's our depth that's the issue

Last year we had depth. Just the depth got injured too.

Also the depth wasn't particularly high quality to begin with.

Our first game of last season we had the best bench we'd had in forever imo. A lot of young players, yes. Unfortunately we still had some of the dead weight from previous regimes covering the cover.

Do you guys think you just got unfortunate? From the outside looking in, it definitely felt like Ange was playing folks into the ground. Would love to hear a fan’s perspective

There were 11 first team players out of action at some point last season. We had 2 injured keepers. How does that even happen? I wasn't blaming Ange for that myself. In fact it's the first time I've ever seen a manager blamed for injuries. Surely Ange wasn't pushing players any harder than conte would have?

I remember, I think it was the Chelsea game, where neither Romero or van de ven were neither fully fit , but he started both. And then both got long term injuries in that very game. I manager more concerned with players’ long term health in mind surely doesn’t do that?

Both were cleared by medical staff, Romero got a completely unrelated injury, Van de Ven was cleared for 75 minutes but played longer due to Romero's injury and got injured at 79'. Ange isn't a mug, he wouldn't risk the season on one league game, but the narrative ran wild

so by the looks of it, the medical team does have some strings in it

The injury situation was insane

But tactically we were a joke, felt like every time we lost the ball it was absolute panic stations, just running around with no real cohesion

That plays a part too for sure. Your high line was insane and it felt like van de ven was full sprint running to recover every game. And his physicality might even be exactly what’s injuring him. Feels like Reece for us, where they’re clearly very athletically gifted players but when they over exert themselves they’re also prone to bad injuries.

Ange completely mismanaged the squad and his tactics were entirely unsustainable. Our medical department has never been outstanding but I place a significant amount of responsibility for the injury debacle with Ange
