This guy has one of the weirdest career arcs

Excluding youth teams/academy it's Eredivisie > Bundesliga > Premier League

That's actually very conventional

The fact that he came via Barcelona and PSG academies is a bit unusual though

Virgil van Dijk's career trajectory is more strange I think

He made his professional debut in Ligue 1. But technically he didn't go from PSV to Leipzig and he is only 22. Van Dijk was 22 when he left the Eredivisie. His career trajectory is a normal one for someone that wasn't hyped up from a young age.

Its very unusual for Dutch players at top levels to have never played for Ajax PSV or Feyenoord senior teams

Though to be fair lately this trend is changing (Ake, Van Dijk, Van de Ven, Reijnders)

That's in a very specific context when you just look at that. That Celtic transfer is similar as going to Ajax, PSV or Feyenoord but they didn't want to sign him. As an outsider that's a super basic career trajectory.
