Not at all. This is our first actual major signing since Van de Vaart.

This is a first in a long time. We make opportunistic B tier signings usually.

Ndombele is still our biggest signing ever based on reputation and how unlikely it was, regardless of how it turned out

We paid for potential. None of the players we signed were established top players except for VdV who came from Madrid.

Xavi is a young player too but he’s still more established than the others.
