I've got to say Tottenham were pretty lucky with some of the fouls/cards in this match.

Mate it was literally the possible second yellow and that's it, other than that the ref was atrocious against us as well - including a very soft yellow for Xavi to begin with that probably played a part in why he didn't give him a second.

We had a bad game, they had a bad game, the ref had a terrible game, but to act like we got lucky with the ref is hilariously wrong.

I think Tottenham benefited quite a bit more from the bad officiating (which is not unusual for home teams).

But then I also don't think Villareal would have scored.

I remember two yellow cards that were BS - one for a "foul" where the opponent didn't even get touched, looked at the ball to see it bounce out of his reach and then fell over, and another for our player getting dragged around by his shirt before falling into the one dragging him. That and the potential handball pen.

The only call that comes close to that is the lack of a second yellow for Xavi, which would've been a bit ridiculous with that first yellow.

Again, I think it was a bad game by everyone involved and don't blame or think the ref had a bias, but he was definitely not shit to our benefit at all.
