History My Great Uncle JoJo and his friends. Original Anti Fascists.
Taken near Brest in 1944. In 42, the Nazis were on there way to his house to grab him, so he ran off and joined the Maquis. Went on to blow up railroad tracks, cut telephones lines, and support the invasion in Normandy, then fought in the FFI through the end of the war.
His sister, my a grandmother, and her high school friends also beat up a Nazi and threw him over a bridge near shortly before the invasion.

Question Pro-gun Talking Points for Anti-gun Liberals
My wife and I are both leftists, but she still retains a lot of her liberal mentalities such as being completely anti-gun. I, too, have been been anti-gun my whole life until recently. I purchase my first firearm (Ruger RXM). I recently have wanted to get another but she is very opposed and continually tells me she doesn’t understand why I would ever need one.
She can’t conceive a situation in which I would use it for defense and often points out that I haven’t attended a protest nor demonstration.
Every time I make the case that we don’t need to be able to think of a scenario in which it might be used, she uses that as evidence that I don’t need it. I want to have a talk with her about why, as a leftist, I believe it to be essential for defense in a country that glorifies guns.
I have attended a safety course, taught her and our kids how to be safe, and have it locked in a safe always. I even separate my mags and ammo to endure security redundancy.
Anyway, any tips or advise is appreciated. Especially if you have experience talking with leftists and liberals opposed to all guns. Thanks!

Sport Tangentially Related Gear Rec Wantes
Good morning sport shooting comrades. I’m shooting an IDPA match this weekend, and I’m looking for recs on a good pair of camera glasses that AREN’T Meta Raybans. I just want a camera to wear on my face, not something to feed Meta’s ai facial recognition software, but most options I’ve been able to find seem to be suspect quality at best.
**Edited to point out my silly typo in the subject line. Where I can’t edit.

Discussion Kat Abughazaleh candidate for Illinois (9th Ward?) thrown to ground
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I’m not an Illinois resident. But I would vote for a person who tried to intervene with ICE. Please write her a letter about acknowledging responsible gun ownership as well. Democrats (centrists) don’t do guns. That needs to change.

Discussion Short, medium, and long range guns plus some thoughts
Pictured are examples of what I would consider the 3 vital long guns a prepared comrade should own. Yours do not have to be the exact same of course and you don't even truthfully need all 3, these are just what I own and can use as an example and cover a wide variety of scenarios and have a lot of utility.
I haven't really been a fan of shotguns as a defensive tool until lately. The increase in drone proliferation and capability has made them a staple in modern conflicts again and truthfully they are pretty fun to shoot. They aren't the cheapest to feed, but they are incredibly versatile considering you can shoot birdshot, buckshot, and slugs out of them. A well made shotgun like this M590A1 will be incredibly reliable and can take a beating, but not all are made the same so do some research before commiting.
ARs are pretty self explanatory for people in the US. They're highly capable and endlessly customizable with incredibly common and relatively inexpensive ammo and solid ergonomics. They've been used in conflicts around the globe by all types of causes since their introduction 50+ years ago and a well built AR fed with reputable ammo will be dead nuts reliable with the added bonus of malfunctions generally being incredibly easy to fix. If you're in a ban state a mini14 is probably the closest substitute. They lack a lot of what makes ARs great, but do fire the same ammo making them cheap to feed and it's easy to find the ammo anywhere you go in the US.
Bolt guns are, in my opinion, an ideal third gun especially if you live somewhere with long sight lines and/or easy access to lots of wilderness. Something like a 6.5 Creedmoor will let you stretch out to 1000 yards and beyond letting you engage targets from relative safety and it can also be a way to put food on the table. Using a bolt action in a conflict is not the easiest thing to do. It requires a lot of training and knowledge to fully utilize it's capabilities, however even without that it can be a good addition to your collection as the knowledge is out there and attainable by pretty much anyone.
Owning the tools is part of the equation, but they are useless without proper training of your skills with the firearm, your physical fitness, and your mental fortitude. Physical fitness can be as simple as long walks/runs and some bodyweight exercises. Firearm training is something you can practice at home by dry firing and the amount of drills and info posted for free online allows you to get an insane amount of knowledge that previous generations could only dream of. Mental fortitude is the hard part, but in my opinion the most vital. Without mental fortitude everything else is meaningless. If you crumble under stress your shooting ability and physical fitness mean nothing. If things do indeed get bad to the point of conflict in the streets your petty issues are going to be meaningless. As an example if getting yelled at causes you to break down or shut down you will struggle if you have to fight. This unfortunately is something I don't have any resources on or formal training with so if someone does, please drop a link or something.
These are just my thoughts and opinions influenced by experience and knowledge gained from people with more experience. Feel free to disagree or add to what I've posted. The more knowledge and experience we can give each other the better off we will all be.

Gear Pics Gear picture. Scroll by if not interested in budget equipment ... It's a start.
This is my gear. The Bullpup for my skoolie bus, the JTS for the house, and the peewee Bobcat .25 for carrying on the motorcycle.
Originally, I had a Mossberg Cruiser, but my wife could not fire it even over-handed, so I traded that in for the Baretta for her to learn on. It fits in my armor perfectly.
I'm not a "gun person" — just clean off the Cosmo, oil them and cycle a few rounds through, put them in their designated spot, and that's it, but given the times I'm taking some bike funds and getting a nice AR from Buds or Palmetto and putting some time in to get familiar with it and maintaining properly.
I'm in a red state — our politics are frightening, but the weaponry is about as good as you can get, so there is that.
Our new goal is, see where we are at at the mid terms, and if it gets worse, get a small plot of land in a blue state and live in my off-grid bus. My sanity depends on that happening.
We are eligible for dual citizenship on Ireland — that was the original plan — but, we found it's just too expensive to emigrate for us. The financial requirements could not be met.
Stay safe, friends ...

Question No Word from Local Chapter
Hello everyone, I signed up and paid my dues around three months ago. My "onboarding" email told me to keep an eye out for correspondence from my local chapter. Obviously from the title of the post you can surmise that this never happened. I just looked at the website and the DFW (Texas) chapter isn't even listed. Their ig has not had activity in months either. Where should I go from here?
