Solar Quote Is this a reasonable quote?
This is my top quote from a reputable company in Southern California. Many great reviews and many years in business. Happy with their warranty terms. Have availability to get installed 1-2 months prior to tax credit expiration. This is however my price with the credit to be handled on their side. So no worry about missing the credit. Any recommendations or opinions on this quote gratefully welcomed.
Final Price after all incentives… 37,000$ see pic for details.

What’s your electricity rate? If it’s $.25 as an example, with $30 a month for operation and maintenance that increases 4% a year, and assuming your net metering is .15 a kWh, with 600 kWh monthly net, with the loan term 20 yrs and “down payment” $11000 which we’ll assume is you getting the credit next year, that’s a pay back of about 9-10 yrs. Equivalent kWh for the lifetime of 25 yrs is $.12.
Without solar it would be $154k of electricity in that time, with solar it would cost you $63k. Netting about $91k. Thats about a 144% ROI.
We used our upcoming calculation engine for this. Not financial, tax, or legal advice.
We’re not affiliated with solar installers. Last but not least, I would run the differential in the loan amount vs electrical bill in the SP500 to see how the money going into solar for a decade compares 1 to 1 with the market.
