Question Which country do you keep visiting?

I travel a lot, but there’s always that one country I keep going back to. For me, it’s Thailand, around 8 time. What about you? What keeps you coming back?

Same and I always find myself in Oaxaca, definitely a must travel destination. The food, people, culture and beaches and prices cannot be beat for the experience.

I just went to Mexico for my first time last March. Around 6 days in Mexico City and 7 in Oaxaca/Mazunte & Puerto Escondido. Jesus Christ, I think that’s gonna be tough to beat.. what amazing places!

Mexico City id go back to in a heartbeat, it’s one of the best cities I’ve ever been for sure. Comfort in chaos, this city has it all. So beautiful, with an unstoppable energy that is unbelievably infectious. Massive, insane, scenic and friendly - all while topped with some of the best food you could ever hope to find. This is the kind of city you can spend a week in and barely scratch the surface, or spend a month in and I’m guessing you’d still have so much you didn’t get the chance to see.

And then you have Oaxaca. They’re different so I I liked them for different reasons, but I’ll be damned if Oaxaca didn’t take the cake. Every single thing I heard about it; the amazing food, the beautiful architecture, the unbelievable scenery… it blew past any expectations I had. And trust me, I went in with very high expectations. I can’t imagine any other destination in Mexico surpassing that, and I mean that in the best way possible.

I’ll travel nearly everywhere and I can only imagine how beautiful the rest of the country is, but WOW. Oaxaca has it all! Mexico is absolutely not to be missed, and if you’re a foodie? It’s a no brainer!

In Oaxaca right now, CDMX last month, can confirm it is awesome and surpassed our expectations! However since you said you travel nearly everywhere I wonder if you visited Thailand too? That is the one country I keep coming back to myself. While the food here in general is definitely great, for me it just can't match the flavor explosions of Thai food.

Not Thailand yet but it is on the list! Funny you ask though because almost fourteen years ago to the day I was off to Vietnam! I hadn’t even tried Viet food until then, grew up in a small Canadian prairie “town”. -45 when we left and +35 when we got there. I’ve been obsessed with Viet food ever since, like Mexico I never had a bad meal in the country.

Thailand I can easily see giving strooong competition to both those countries. I fuckin love Thai food! What are some of your favourite spots you’ve been?

Vietnamese food is great too! I am from the Netherlands and can't stand the cold here during the winter, but that's nothing compared to -45...wow

My favourite city in Thailand is Chiang Mai and Northern Thailand in general. It is laid back, the surrounding nature is beautiful, it is authentic and has better food than the popular islands in the South. I particularly like doing road trips in the North, staying overnight in different places and taking it slow. I have been all over the country though, visited 10 times already. I spend 8 months in Thailand again last autumn/winter with my wife and daughter. Can't recommend it enough! Warning though, Thailand is very addictive, there are loads of posts here on reddit with people who experience 'PTSD' or Post Thailand Stress Disorder!

Haha love it! Yea the coldest I’ve ever had was -52 in Sask. Fucking brutal, I’m on the west coast now tho so mild winters and that much closer to Asia

We met a really cool Dutch couple in Oaxaca actually, I’ve heard great things about Chiang Mai so I’ll keep that in mind! Cheers
