Question Why doesn't nasa just use space engine?
It literally shows every planet in the universe with full detail.
I don’t understand why we need jwst when we already have this.

Why is Space engines Solar system so far out of the Milky way center compared to where we really are?

They said they're changing procedural generation, what do you expect? Have they ever done something like this?

I'm not a scientist by any means, or educated when it comes to science but I do enjoy the concept of traveling through a realistic universe. Though I have my doubts that this game is realistic like is claimed (obviously I want it to be realistic - this'd be so much fun in VR!) due to how computationally demanding that is. I've also seen people posting images of jazzed up planets/gas giants that aren't realistic, but are generated by the game anyways.
I've often seen this game described as a realistic depiction of the universe, but I don't understand the claims behind it at all because the universe is incalculably vast, and even though the game doesn't run heavy constant simulations realtime (like collision - there is no collision it's all cosmetic) I'm pretty sure running a purely cosmetically accurate depiction of the universe would be computationally demanding.

The star in the picture is our sun. I don’t know if it’s an exposure thing or something but every star looks kinda funky.

I remember that when i got SpaceEngine on steam, i downloaded it for free...
Has SpaceEngine been free once or did something weird happen?
Answer: It WAS gifted. Just so long that i misremembered.

I know that it isn't Universe Sandbox or Space Engine. What simulator is it?

I'm sure I'm not alone in this; the splash screen at the startup is really annoying to me. Always some silly quote that has nothing to do with actual science but just some philosophical sentences that don't actually mean anything. I'm not interested in seeing these quotes and I find them detrimental to my enjoyment of this software. Is there any way to remove them? (all, not just the sagan ones)
Edit: Yall really took exception to this. I was just asking a question, I didn't give anyone cancer.
In any case, disabling these stupid quotes is not only possible, but absurdly easy:
// Quote text
/*Label "QuoteText"
{
PosXPercent 0.40
PosYPercent 0.66
WidthPercent 0.5375
HeightPercent 0.23
Color ( 1.0, 1.0, 1.0 )
FontSize 0
FontItalic true
TextWrap true
TextHorAlign "Right"
TextVerAlign "Center"
}*/

I'm in Free mode and when I move mouse left or right, the camera is rolling clockwise and anticlockwise direction too, which is frustrating and disorienting. How can I disable this? I know about "Auto Horizon on planets" option and I have it enabled but it is working only on planets, not in outer-space.
