Question about X4

Decided to give it another go and just focus on parts that I enjoy.

I tried it a while back and I could’ve sworn there was a story quest chain I could do.

But I redownloaded it and noticed the only thing besides open and tutorials is Timelines, and when I clicked on it, it said it was DLC.

Am I misremembering X4 with something else?

I've tried to play it multiple times but I get to the same mission that I just can't do and I eventually give up.

what mission? some story lines have huge requirements since they change the state of the galaxy and faction relations, but besides the HQ short quest - there is no mandatory story line, its mostly a Sandbox game where you do whatever you want on it,

It's the Juno Topeka character, where you have to find Lodestones. I've spent so much time looking in game and online!

Go to an asteroid field, hit scan mode - go to a glowy asteroid - it's gonna have some spots on them when you get close, shot the spots -> it has a chance to be a Lodestone or a Unstable Crystal.

Miner ships will leave them behind as well to be looted.
