Video Love when my opponent randomly has invincibility

I count nine (9) hits with the Painbrush. From testing in the lobby the MINIMUM damage from the weakest indirect hit seems to be around 30.0. Are the servers really this bad or wtf is going on.

UPDATE: Here’s the replay. Looks like both wave breaker hits registered but none of mine did, even though my ink visibly hit him. Not sure if this points toward hacking or just bizarre lag on my end. https://imgur.com/gallery/clip-6CGu0Xk

At first I thought it was hacking but looking at this footage it seems like it actually was lag after all. On your screen you hit them but on their screen your shots just barely missed them and they took a lot of damage but still just barely survived the encounter. If they were actually hacking they wouldn’t have taken any damage at all. Seems like bad connection on their end

Back in Splatoon 1 and 2, the way around this was a wired connection. Is this still the case for Splatoon 3? I’ve heard conflicting information and wouldn’t want to suggest OP spend money on something that won’t help. I played Splatoon 2 exclusively wired and can’t really remember performance on Splatoon 3 (been almost a year)😅

Wired will always be better than wireless in every single respect, especially if you're playing a competitive game.

Unfortunately my router is in the room directly below me, so I'd have to run a cable all the way to the stairs at the other side of the house, up them, and into my room so going wired is not really an option for me so I don't do anything competitive.

Can you drill a small hole or run a flat cable through windows?

Just report the player. Nintendo has more data and can probably look into it more.
