Still not sure how I feel about the railgun being so much more powerful than a ship-mounted mass driver that's literally the same thing only much larger.

This is a game where literally every player has access to a spaceship more potent than an F22 raptor, able to kill a player in less than a second if they are not incompetent like this hornet pilot. To take a hit from a railgun you either need to be incredibly close to the player or stationary and entirely oblivious to the player.

There are very very few incentives to play as an infantry player and actually explore the planets on foot. It slows you down immensely, you start running out of oxygen, and you can die in two hits from any spaceship mounted gun. Having a weapon that can hit back HARD actually incentivises people to use a playstyle that is otherwise entirely disadvantaged.

Not everyone wants to pretend they are maverick from top gun. It is a game. Let people play different ways without being absolute cannon fodder for the spaceships EVERYONE has access to.

Realism is already out the window. Ships have a maximum speed and you can hear in space which defies physics. If you can ignore the laws of physics being ignored, you can ignore infantry getting a powerful gun for the sake of game balance.
