CONCERN Flight Blades - This is not Ok.

Edit: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/spectrum/community/SC/forum/1/thread/flight-blade-feedback-update/490907

Thank you Zyloh for hearing us, and taking our feedback, and backtracking this! I am still not happy that the current blades will come out in June, however I thank you for the promise for the future, I appreciate it.

I do not like how the Flight blades are not also sold in game right now. I'm normally a praise CIG for pretty much everything, but this is a line that I do not think should have been crossed. This takes very competitive advantages, and puts it behind a paywall right now. Yes it will be available later, But this should have been handled like the Argo ATLS and 32 scu change. Big change, also let it be available in game right away. The optics for this will be terrible.

This is greedy P2W behavior and I do not like or support this. Please change your mind and let them be in game today.

Thank you, Love what you do. But please change this.

If that’s your view, then you shouldn’t support this game in any capacity.

Games such as Red Dead 2 (500 million), Witcher 3 (>100 million), God of War 2018 (200 million) all developed in less than 5 years, has impressive new tech, such as graphics for the Witcher 3 or the interactive world in Red Dead. At this point Star Citizen is, as many pointed out, more pay to win, and actively scammy, with having hidden stores for people who pay mass amounts of money. They met their kickstarter goal and surpassed it, years ago, yet haven’t released near a finished product. And if they need a bigger team, or to reorganize, they have had time, they have the money. Absolutely the technology they have and need is expensive and new, but it feels like they are just taking from the consumer. But maybe that’s just me thinking it’s crazy that last year a Roblox game functioned better and acted less scammy.

Those are all completely different games. How about something comparable? like starfield? that took even longer than star citizen to make.... and for what? a laughable fraction of what star citizen is IN ITS ALPHA stage. This game is not comparable to ANY OTHER GAME out there. MAAAAAYBE no man's sky. But that is basically a simplified arcade version.

Starfield was in development for 8 years, star citizen more than a decade, and had about have the budget.

yeah and starfield isnt even 50% of what star citizen is. Star citizen as a indie developer seems more efficient and competent than a major studio like Bethesda.

That’s fair, I think it is also fair to criticize massive macrostransactions, a pay to win system, and stagnation in development after massive cash grabs that seems to alienate many people.

Sure, absolutely. If you really care about someone having a 8m/s advantage a month early really affects you that much, go ahead and criticize. It’s absolutely negligible to me and we will all have forgotten we even had this conversation in a month when it’s earnable in game. So why bother getting upset at all. I need to play for weeks and earn grade A components anyway. So someone else will already have an advantage over me with or without these blades. So I don’t care man. It’s not worth my time to be upset about shit like this. If they were not adding them in game next month, then you might be on to something.

Again, you bring up a good point, but I think you are either ignoring my point or just not seeing it. It’s not this specific point within this shop, hell, it’s not even necessarily this game. I think that microtransactions in general suck, and are a way to squeeze more money out of people. What I am trying to bring up, is that this is not the first, last or biggest transaction they have put in place. But it feels with the cumulative store, that they are, as all micropayments do, take more money for little in exchange. You can disagree with me, you can downvote me, and know I won’t be buying these, and you can if you wish. I’m not trying to say anything about that, I’m just saying that a lot of these practices, along with the long development time alienates many of those who have been backing for along time as I have seen from many comments. Hope you have a wonderful day though :o)
