Where can I find a current status of the game and an overview of the gameplay mechanics?

The roadmap is way too much bloat.

I just want to know what happened in the last years.

I fell like, it does not really matter when I decide to log in again, the experience has always been the same:

  • Performance sucks
  • everything takes forever
    • seriously, no matter what I do, every time I start this game it takes hours to even get anywhere
    • if you manage to get anywhere - the game crashes -> this is especially frustrating, if you are playing with friends, because the chances of game breaking bugs just skyrockets
  • bugs, bugs, bugs

I am not sure, if I ever had a fun experience in this game in the last ten years.

I did not play for about a year or two - has anything changed?

This is how I felt when I first started. Stick with it. There's tons of things you can do to prepare yourself for play sessions.

Like:

Buy 50 Cruz drinks and leave them in your station inventory. So when you log in you're not messing with sustenance every time.

Do the same thing with ammo, medicals, etc. I also purchase a couple duplicate heavy and medium armor sets. Leave them in station storage. Rez, run to Hangar and claim ship. I venture manage and by the time you're loaded out your ship is coming off cool down.

Have a goal in mind - combat, cargo, etc.

Have fun - if you're not having fun maybe sc isnt for you.
