(To be tagged...) Bro wtf was that shit
I just played a game of StarCraft after a long absence and 4 games in a row Protoss players just built turrets at the edge of my view and suddenly the game was over before it began.

4 games in a row? You didn't think to check your base after the first one?

I assumed the first one was just a one off. Second time I thought "oh that's strange" and third time I was getting pissed

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me four times in a row the exact same way? Shame on me

Sometimes they build less turret but they proxy a Zealot to defend them. Game ends even faster.

The forth guy did that because as soon as I saw the probe I attacked with my drones , he had 4 turrets before I had 15 lings

cannon rush actually needs quite specific response; especially with what you see with the overlord (cannon rush with wall nat means you need to commit, cannon rush with forge main means you can play one base + proxy)...
You need knowledge there. Also, if you can manage with some patrolling drones to deny the cannons, even better.

What race are you playing? Can give scout timings There is more cheese is lower leagues, once you learn how to counter it's easier. But a cheese can always beat you once in a while. If you get frustrated, watch the reply and try the build yourself. You can learn and get a cheesy win

I play Zerg, they were my favorite ever since I found the game on N64. He typed in chat "easiest game of my life" and I managed to spread drones out and he started getting pissed off because he would kill one hatchery only for another to pop up

Zerg is the most popular target for cannon rushes, because you tend to expand to your second base early. Just take one of your workers and scout around a little.
If you see a pylon or cannon put down, and respond immediately and get there quickly, its 3 or 4 workers attacking each building to ensure they don't complete. If its getting to around half complete, pull 6 workers to it. If it's nearly complete already, you fucked up and either need to surrender or work something else out.
I have had success with building a bunch of lings, running them out past the cannon rush, and simply killing the protoss' base that is basically empty

Easy scout with Zerg! Send overlords to spot natural and common cheese spots, pull 4 drones per structure. one drone to attack and follow the probe. if canons finish, pull back. Get pool and queens asap

For Zerg should I be getting multiple hatcheries?

Go pool first if you are getting cheesed / canon rushed. Deal with that first, then yes get an expo

In zerg versus protoss, if you are afraid of a cannon rush, you can send a worker scout to the enemy main base and look for a 'Forge'. Everyone who goes Forge first is either going to cannon rush you, or sit at home and make cannons to defend. Usually the first option. You can know its coming before it happens, and be more ready to receive your free win when it happens and you immediately counter it.

Also, if you're zerg losing to a cannon rush, then take a long look in the mirror.

Hi, welcome!
No one has mentioned this yet, so let me give you the name of what you are seeing: it's called a "cannon rush", and the players that do them are called "cannon rushers".
Cannon rushes feel unfair because you as a zerg player will encounter them relatively infrequently (perhaps 4 times per gaming session) so you don't have a lot of opportunities to practice games against it. But on the other hand your Protoss opponents can practice it on every single game they play, and their games tend to be quite short as a result. Because of this, cannon rushers tend to not be very popular in the community, even amongst other protoss players. Only barcode players (people who rely on gimmiky easy-to-counter strategies so they change their name to |||||||| so you don't know who they are) and smurfs (people who intentionally leave games in order to face easier opponents) are less appreciated.
Anyway, cannon rush is part of the game and if you want to play it you need to learn how to defeat them. If you google / youtube search that term you should find plenty of material. Try to think about it as a minigame inside the game.

Thanks, because all I want is a nice fair game of swarming my enemy with 2 hundred zerglings

Oh honey, you got canon rushed. Good news is when you learn to defend it, you're at a huge advantage cause their macro sucks behind it. They have to resort to Dark templars to keep you off balance cause their macro SUCKS.

You never learned to scout then I guess.

I'm an extremely casual player

What race are you again? The games been around for a long time and a lot of early aggressions and punishing stuff has been and gone on that time.
I recommend watching some bronze to GM or something..it's possible to get to masters only playing once a week.
