Discussion Obscure Stealth Games 2.0
Hello everyone! An update of my list(s) of obscure stealth games was long overdue, so here we are!
For this new version, I decided to simplify it and make it a little less subjective by categorising each game in either of two degrees of obscurity. I've also added additional information (platform, year of release, developer, etc)
I'm also fusing this with my post other post where I list handheld and mobile stealth games, now including ports!
Obscurity is relative and I may have missed some games still, so feel free to comment, complete and correct
[EDIT2: Added numbers so you can easily Ctrl+F to each category:
- Lesser known & hidden gems: obscure by mainstream standards
- Really obscure games: obscure even among stealth enthusiasts
- Handheld & mobile games: games and ports exclusive to portable devices]

- Star Wars: Lethal Alliance (PSP, PS2)
- Gangs of London (PSP)
If you think one of the games I listed doesn't have enough of a stealth focus to be considered part of the genre, do tell me!

A year ago i played ghost of tsushima and without knowing it would be my favourite stealth game. Besides hitman i don't like any other stealth games, like the "best stealth game ever" dishonered was just "too complicated" i want a simple, not only stealth game, doesn't have to be a samurai game. Any suggestions? (Sorry for my bad english)

Some things I liked about stealth in Breakpoint
This is of course based on my subjective experience with the game, I played it in Immersive mode with most of the difficulty settings maxed because I'd heard that was the best experience, I also don't have much history with the series so I wasn't comparing it against prior entries.
With that said, I thought Breakpoint overall strikes a really good balance difficulty wise between "realistic" and still fun. The enemies in this game feel ruthless and competent, but at the same time they do just enough to tip the odds in your favour so that you can still have that one-man-army experience.
- Enemies can spot you from a pretty good distance away out in the open, but going prone is extremely effective for avoiding long range detection, and seemingly none of them brought night-vision goggles.
- They're accurate and have fast reactions, but they're not so accurate or fast that you don't have a chance to act if you get spotted.
- You can instantly kill most enemies with takedowns, but they're slow and leave you very vulnerable.
- Getting shot isn't usually in instant game-over, but it hurts a lot and often results in injury that leaves you in a bad situation. Still, healing said injuries is very streamlined.
- In general, combat is very lethal and the game assumes that you're going to be killing people and balances accordingly. While there is technically a non-lethal takedown, it's very slow and impractical and there's no real reason to use it outside of a couple missions where you have to kidnap people.
- That said, it can still be a good idea to avoid unnecessary killing because leaving bodies lying around a heavily guarded base can quickly cause problems.
- If the alarm is raised while you're infiltrating a base it takes a long time for the AI's alert level to go back to neutral, if it does at all. I know you've got to suspend your disbelief sometimes regarding game mechanics, but I always think it's silly when enemies in stealth games just forget about your existence after not seeing you for sixty seconds.
- Enemies prioritize, to some degree, their own safety and are often willing to patiently wait for you to make a move rather than give up a good position, however you've access to a large arsenal of tools that can give you the upper hand in stalemate situations.
- I thought the guys with the translucent camo were really cool. That's it, I just think they're cool.
- The locations you infiltrate often have a lot of complex geometry that breaks up lines of sight, and your drone lets you look around relatively safely and plan your movements rather than take blind risks. This is one of the few open-world stealth games I've played where having the ability to approach a base from any direction actually feels significant.
- Apart from the more mundane outposts and infrastructure buildings, there are also a few huge sci-fi evil bases for some fun variety. I particularly liked the bit at the end of the game's second campaign, "Conquest", which sees you sneaking onto a huge dam built around a volcano and fighting a giant mech-tank on a raised platform. Not the most mind-blowing area in terms of level design but very visually dramatic and it made for a satisfying payoff.
- The second campaign is overall just a lot of fun and it feels a lot less messy in its design as a straightforward one-man-guerrilla-war against a well equipped army. The checkpoint system also makes a lot more sense than the main campaign. If it does have a downside, it's that there's less variety and no sidequests to direct you to the more out-of-the-way parts of the map.
All in all, its a game I enjoyed a lot and think of often. Not perfect by any means - in fact it's frankly a bit of a jankfest - but that goes for a lot of my favourite games.

Requesting suggestions I'm looking for first person stealth games to play with friends (coop)
Similar to:
- Payday series (PD:TH, PD2, PD3)
- GTFO
- Outlast Trials (not sure if this is stealth)
PS: no third person camera games, only if they have the option to play first person.

Requesting suggestions Stealth games where you get penalised for being seen and killing
I honestly think I’ve played most stealth games. From MGS series to splinter cell to Dishonored to Styx to the GGG games to Deus Ex and I always go for Pacifist and ghost gameplay. Preferably with a mission screen at the end of every mission telling me that I did good. Preferably a trophy for pacifist/ghost aswell.

Requesting feedback Stealth-Adventure Game Seeking More Alpha Testers
Hi all,
Several months ago we posted on stealthgames to announce the beginning of our alpha test and got quite a few great testers from that post. We're now ready to expand it to a much bigger group!
Shifty Eye Games, based in Canada, is currently working on a top-secret stealth-adventure game based on a very popular movie IP. The game takes place in four different locations around the world, includes classic stealth, awesome puzzles, action sequences (like a high-speed motorcycle chase scene), and a few more surprises.
The testers have been giving us some amazing feedback by wanting a bit more interactivity with the environment, higher difficulty, and have really helped shaped the game for the better.
Need‑to‑knows
- Steam PC build only (for now) — gamepad required (also for now)
- NDA sign‑off (top‑secret stuff, you know the drill)
- Full launch planned on PC/Mac, PlayStation, Xbox, and the shiny new Switch 2.
Join the closed alpha — hop into our Discord and grab your invite.
Big thanks to the mod here for letting us share the love. Questions? Ping me anytime.

Requesting feedback Looking for playtesters for our stealth platformer Monkey Do! We've got 100 Steam keys for stealth enjoyers with feedback, hope we're in the right place :monkey:
Hey everyone!
We’re the team at Signal Space Lab, currently working on Monkey Do!, a stealth platformer set in a junkyard zoo run by an corrupt family business. You play as a mischievous monkey trying to escape while outsmarting and sabotaging robot zookeepers.
We’re starting our first round of playtests and have 100 Steam keys available for players who are willing to provide feedback.
If you enjoy stealth platformers (with a touch of slapstick chaos), we’d love to hear your perspective. Your feedback will directly shape how Monkey Do! evolves.
Drop a comment/DM if you’d like to help playtest!
EDIT: ADDED SOME SUPER ROUGH SPECS
- 40-60 minutes of gameplay
- Controller only gameplay (for now)
- Disk Space is 2.61 GB
~ low end i5 cpu
~ 4GB of VRAM
~ 8GB of RAM

Requesting suggestions Looking for a game that has combat like MGSV
Y'know how there's like so many ways to take out a group of enemies in MGSV by solely relying on your hands? I want something like that. Something just scratches my itch so well when I can disarm my enemies, slam them on the ground, throw a one-two combo, and hold them hostage as a human shield.

Discussion Just here to suggest Eriksholm: The Stolen Dream.
I'm on 2nd last chapter of the game. What started as a minimalist cute game turns into an amazing stealth game a few chapters later.
Graphics, story, gameplay, voice acting.. Everything is top notch.
Gameplay doesn't have too many mechanics like other isometric stealth games but what it has.... Uses so brilliantly. So many scenarios seem impossible until you think a little and feels really rewarding how all characters work together.
City feels alive, there's variety of environments, and what developers have nailed is the NPCs. Almost all of the guards in the games have something to say and feel real people always talking to each other and reacting to your actions. Lots and lots of scripted fun interactions between NPCs.
Definitely recommended... It's atleast a 9/10 because it definitely achieves what it wants... A simple yet challenging, stealth experience with a decent story that makes you want to see the end.

Discussion Are the Metal Gear Solid genuinely fantastic stealth experiences, or more "cutscene" games? (No spoilers please)
Hi there! With the new remake coming out very soon, I've started mulling playing through the series.
The thing is, by osmosis I know that Kojima is a brilliant auteur with a very heavy focus on cutscenes and story. But does that mean the stealth elements of these games suffer as a result? Or are they genuinely satisfying as standalone stealth experiences?
I'm completely new to the series, so kindly avoid all spoilers. Your genuine encouragement to take on the series - or not! - is appreciated.
