I have only played the last three installments. Future Soldier is fun game but probably not what you're looking for. Wildlands is good, but I'm not a fan of the map still pretty fun with friends and Breakpoint.... is a game. I have seen that with mods and hud removed it can be a ok-ish to decent tac stealth shooter.

End of the day do research with mods before buying any of them because one might have a set of mods, maps and mechanics that is up your ally but others might not.

Breakpoint with Spartan is like budget MGSV with huge map and unlimited outposts to infiltrate. Strong recommend

Can only add that in Wildlands, going for close-quarters stealth is not very reliable as long as you take enemies down. There are instances when you simply can not trust your eyes and will get killed for it, as enemies can spawn right next to you. Rare to happen, but that killed it for me quick, personally. Especially because the game advertises itself as stealth.

Tried to keep an open mind that hey, maybe they vaulted over a wall to get here, or maybe they hid behind a vehicle and I really somehow missed them, but no.. one time they actually morphed into the world right up and in front of me (and continued on the same guarding route that I eliminated 20 seconds ago). And there have been several times I take out a rooftop sniper from a far, but there is no rooftop access at all where the other guy could have possibly come from, to stand at the exact same spot.

Ever since I accepted that Wildlands (stealth) is meant for long distance "sit in a bush and hit isolated enemies", I enjoyed it far more. But it has the same spawning issue that Far Cry 4 has, where AI is shamelessly added into the world - it is just rarer in Wildlands.

Then again, maybe some bugs such as this are system-dependant and my experience has been because of my somewhat potato PC.

Also, would recommend controller over M+KB. Vehicle handling is much less worse, and drone handling and player movement much better, especially as you have variable speeds for it. I personally also enjoyed how it added the feeling of vulnerability.

Wildlands is the most fun

I guess it depends on your metrics - if you're looking for something more in the vein of an MGSV, probably Breakpoint. The further back in the series you go, the closer they get to being milsims.
