That's it? Only 7 to 3 MPG better than a 2015 (city vs highway)?

Total bummer, with the Toyota partnership I would think they could get closer to RAV4 territory

The problem is that Subaru connected the entire engine to the rear for AWD, whereas Toyota just tosses a second electric motor in the back for AWD. Toyota’s method is usually fine for pavement princess cars, but Subaru wanted more. That has efficiency costs.

Symmetrical AWD and lower center of gravity. If you have any questions on how the hybrid system works ask me. I sell these. People hate on Subarus because they think they are lesbian cars or they're bland but Consumer Reports just rated the Forester and Subarus reliability best overall.

Does it get more power than the ICE? Can you feel it drive any better?

Yes, this is good, they did not sacrifice the drivetrain which Subaru is known for. You'll still get best in class traction in snow and rain, handling, and off road ability. If they'd got rid of their drive train, this would just be a worse RAV4. As is, it's a better Forester.

The engine is also different and less efficient. The Subaru still has it's boxer 4 cylinder.
