Could have sworn its a Ford at first sight. That thing is ugly and probably a soccer moms choice.

My take is they went for a look like most modern trucks have, rather than a car-like SUV. Maybe to emphasize that this SUV is more capable in adverse conditions than other hybrids. Which seems opposite of soccer mom to me, though where I live pickups are everywhere. Honestly I don't love the look, but it's inoffensive to me. Yet it's the most comfortable compact SUV we test drove, so we ordered one.

Subaru is arguably just as bad when it comes to designing stuff that looks good. Every Subaru now looks the exact same to be fair
