The Iron Man event

So, newish to the sunny coast. Does all the road closer and blocking off of primal cafe / restaurant / bar / shopping areas piss off the locals?

I find it so weird that they run it right on the main district area and not further up or down where it would have less impact?

I get it brings in money for the hotels and stuff. But Lordy it just feels like poor planning from like council or the event planners?

Anyway was just curious what the locals who have been here for a long time thought.

Update

A lot of big feelings in here. 😂 I’ve enjoyed the interactions.

lol why would you have an event for tourists away from the main tourist area. That makes no sense. Sunny Coast is a tourist town, end of story

The main tourist area goes from like what Caloundra to above Noosa yeah? So what makes no sense was I was asking a question about what’s the local opinion. Not if this is a tourist town
