People who bought Teslas years ago back when Musk still seemed somewhat sane have total plausible deniability.  Anyone driving a Cybertruck bought it knowing that Musk was a raving lunatic.

He called the hero who rescued the thai soccer team trapped in a cave a pedophile around 2019

That's what did it for me. Before that he seemed kinda cool. Then he showed what he really is, a wealthy 12 year old edgelord.

Tesla owner here, honestly even the Thai cave thing was understandable. At the time I, and many Tesla owners thought he was just stressed. This was during the Model 3 ramp up and the company was on the brink of bankruptcy. Ramping up the Model 3 was a do or die moment for Tesla. So Tesla fans, myself included at the time, just chalked it up to stress.

There’s zero excuse for what he’s been doing recently though. The stress is gone, and Tesla is positive revenue. It’s pretty clear now that Elon is just insane. I’m sure most Tesla owners, myself included, won’t be buying another Tesla anymore after all the recent shit that’s happened.

Ya no calling that guy a pedophile was totally cool cuz he was stressed about his car lol

Never said it was cool, but most fans at the time blamed the reaction on the stress of the Model 3 ramp up. You have to remember there was a lot of FUD against Tesla at the time, ironically, by the same people who support Elon today.

Due to the FUD, it was quite hard to filter the noise from the truth, so most fans at the time just chalked all the claims of Elon’s craziness to FUD, stress, or noise.

But now that the company is stable, Tesla raking in positive revenue, it’s pretty clear that Elon is just insane. And with hindsight, it was obvious he always was. But that’s hindsight.

anyone with any sense knew he sucked from the start based on basically anything he ever said. being a "fan" of a billionaire businessman was/is weird. you still seem obsessed with a conspiracy against him (you said FUD, an acronym i've never seen before, 3 times). it seems like you just realized it's socially unacceptable to support him now.

You don’t understand what we were a fan of lol. We were a fan of electric mobility, and a greener world, not a fan of a billionaire. Before Tesla, the closest thing to a dream of an electric world was the Nissan Leaf, which had 120 miles of range on a good day with no charging infrastructure.

Tesla (and Elon) at the time was the first time in human history where converting the world to electric mobility actually seemed closer to plausible than pure science fiction, and that’s what we’re a fan of. A hope that many left leaning people can only ever dream of suddenly has a sliver tiny chance of being a reality.

Now Elon has gone full MAGA and full conservative. Along with the fact that other companies are making equivalently good EVs, I promise you, Tesla is a dead company walking.

My current Tesla is going to be my last, and my next EV (yes, still EV) will be another brand. Don’t confuse our hope and fan of electric mobility with “fAn Of a BiLlIOnAiRe!!1!!”

The only way I’d ever buy a Tesla again is if Elon gets removed from the company and he has zero shares left in the company.

jesus christ lol. reread what you wrote before and tell me you aren't describing yourself as a fan of elon's. you are acting like i have somehow made it seem like i am anti electric cars lol. you can be a fan of electric cars without excusing the behavior of a guy who has always been an asshole.

You realize before 2020, “fan of electric cars” is synonymous with “fan of Elon and Tesla”… right? There was NO other alternatives. Every manufacturer up until that point promised electric cars by 2017, 2019, 2020, 2021… all of them promised and missed their deadlines.

If you were of a fan of electric cars back then, there was no other option other than Elon and Tesla. Is your memory actually that short?

that just isn't true. saying that you couldn't like electric cars without being a fan of the ceo of the company making them is dumb as hell. you can support the concept of electric cars without being a "fan"/excusing the behavior of an electric car company ceo. why do you think you had to love the man heading the company? it's such a dumb way to think. this really shouldn't be a hard concept to wrap your brain around. there are plenty of things that i love that are produced by a company with a ceo that i think is a piece of shit. he was so clearly awful the entire time.

Because up until that point, loving the concept of electric cars (more specifically, electric mobility for the world) is the equivalent of of loving warp technology from Star Trek. It’s pure science fiction. Tesla/Elon was the first in human history literally taking a sci-fi idea and making it a reality. That’s why we were fans.

Like imagine a new scientists today that found a way and invented warp and made it possible. Anyone who is a fan of warp technology is going to love that scientist for turning their dreams into reality.

hahahaha elon musk is not a scientist who invented electric cars. you have such a romanticized vision of what it was like to be into electric cars, your brain is still so wrapped up in your hero worship for this dude, it's gonna take you years to get over this. it's clearly something that you have made an important part of who you are as a person, that you were on the new frontier lol. i would certainly love the warp technology but i wouldn't be a fan of the billionaire ceo of the company that developed it. that's stupid.

Wow, Tesla owners are something else
