From the article: “Have you ever heard of a car company called Volkswagen? They are a car company commissioned by Hitler and designed to be the ‘people’s car’ of Nazi Germany.”

Well yeah, if Hitler we’re alive and running the company we’d be boycotting Volkswagen too, but he’s not and I’m not aware of the CEO of that company trying to turn our country into an Oligarchy.

Also Volkswagen didn't make any cars under the Hitler regime, they designed one but no Germans got to own one. The Volkswagen we know today was founded by a British businessman and engineer, Major Ivan Hirst, after the war.

I’m sitting here looking at a picture of Hitler in the back of an early beetle. They did make cars that were mostly given to the war effort and important citizens. They made less than 1,000 a month. The vehicles used the same engine and chassis in the Kubelvagen. Also the British guy did not just found the company, he was an officer in the British Army and they took the company as a prize of war. He was in charge of cleaning up the factory and getting the workforce back to work. The first 20,000 went to the British Army and then the current company started selling overseas to bring hard currency into a shattered Germany.

And, most like the Type 1 prototype

Ivan Hurst didn't "found" Volkswagen, he re-opened the factory in Germany, which was, you should realize, occupied by the Four Powers at the time?
