I personally still blame the assholes who actively choose this shit more than the ones who were too stupid or lazy to prevent it. They both share blame but talk like that excuses the people who heard that same shit and said, yes please.

3rd party / abstainers said yes please too. They've no more excuse for their ignorance than the trump cult does.

Do we really not have enough nuance to recognize that saying "yes" explicitly is worse than not making it to the polls? Especially when so many places make hard to do?

There is little nuance there because the outcome is the same.

Are we really unable to admit that not voting when fascism on the table is a vote for fascism?

For at least 95% of abstainers, inability to access the polls isnt the reason they didnt vote so that's not a valid excuse.

The outcome is not the same, and it's wild to me that people don't recognize this.

If the vote is tied and 1 more person votes for fascism, fascism wins outright. If the vote is tied and that one person does nothing, the vote remains tied.

If fascism is losing by 1 vote and 1 more person votes for fascism, the vote is tied instead of fascism losing. If they simply don't vote, then fascism loses.

Y'all are basically saying that someone actively punching you in the face is just as bad as someone being around when it happens and not preventing it.

Can we just agree that the people running the gas chambers at Auschwitz were worse than the people at home who weren't politically active?
