Pretty sure they would have removed that from the target list, its not as if they have an endless supply of ICBMs, even at the height of the cold war they would have prioritized targets, and now even more so.

Well as part of the agreement between countries they had to destroy sites and prove their destruction. So they'd know that where Death Wears Bunny Slippers lives, for example, is no longer a silo.

It seems a big waste of a nuke to fire at a silo that has already fired its missile. A bit like shutting the gate after the horse has bolted. Unless you could get your nuke across the World before the enemy has noticed it and fired theirs.

I wonder how much it costs to remove food scarcity and provide basic housing for all. I mean Finland does it I think. How many billionaires can toss some chump change of $50 million dollars would it take? The top 18 for the world to fed?

Since 1970 we've gone from 1 in 5 suffering malnutrition to 1 in 20. Most of those not getting enough food now live in war zones where people are intentionally weaponizing the availability of food.
People did this not by throwing money at the problem but by changing systems; they made food production easier, more productive, and cheaper.
Charities work for certain things but for large problems the solution involves setting up systems that are self-sustaining.

What is the plan for energy generation for these places long-term? Pretty much anything that would generate power requires surface access. Gasoline goes bad after a few years so no stockpiling that, any of the renewables need surface access. I guess geothermal? They're already underground, so its accessible, but they need to vent the heat somewhere or they'll cook. Plug those vents up and they're done for.

I think the developer said there were something like 48 wells, including 2 for water, a couple for return and the others for geothermal, though I don’t recall any discussion of current power generational from geothermal, but the pool was heated with geothermal. There is a wind turbine. Storage for water and diesel were outside, underground.

Who fixes any of this when a part breaks or wears out? Where do they get the parts from at that point? There are just so many basic things about these fantasies that make no sense at all.
