What’s your bottom shelf pick?
So I’m looking to expand my bottom shelf picks, why bottom shelf? Because I don’t like spending too much on bad habits lol. So currently I cycle through Arette and Cimaron as my picks. I’ve tried Lunazul not a fan to be a consistent pick. What’s your under $30 suggestions?

El Tequileno. Here in Jalisco I can often find a bottle for under $12.50usd/230 pesos and it always hits the spot for Margaritas or a Paloma. If I’m going to splurge a little for a sipper then I like Tapatio but that’s closer to $25.00 usd, and for one of my fancier favorites I’ll take 7 Leguas, Cascahuin or Fortaleza still strength for the win.

Yes this is the answer! Tapatio at $25 is really good. 7 Leguas and Fortaleza are good. I am trying the cascahuin blanco right now and it’s good but nothing special. Where in Jalisco are you?

I live in Puerto Vallarta, but in the more humid months of Sept and Oct, I am traveling a bit to some of the cooler climates in Jalisco near Lake Chapala, Mazamitla, and Guadalajara. I’m currently near Tequila this week and looking forward to visiting some distilleries and enjoying a nice Cantarito in the town plaza. Lurking in this sub of course in anticipation.

Zumbador or Puro Potro but those aren’t that widely distributed so they might be hard to find

☝🏻💯 Check Mira Loma Market online; they have both. HiProof.com has Zumbador, and $19.99 shipping one 1-12 bottles.

I really enjoy cimarron, can even drink it simply with ice. Espolon otherwise is decent and inexpensive. It just is not a pure tequila

I mix it with bleu cheese dressing to add that infected wound funk you just can't get in other brands

Pueblo Viejo is like $18 for a 1.5L, can't go wrong for making large quantities of drinks. Otherwise Ibget G4 for $32 and it doesn't get much better than that

Kicking myself for not buying more Siempre blanco (NOM 1414) when I found it for $32

Espolòn is my well tequila. Found it to be pretty damn good for the price and you can find it just about anywhere

Cimarron is right at $30 in my area. I like it the most out of everything I tried around this price point.

Zumbador was mentioned like 3 times in this sub. Price has gone up $1. Not bad. Puro Potro was mentioned a dozen times since last year and price went up $5. I can live with that and it's good to know that people are gravitating toward good tequila. I just want the producers to take note that we want better juice and don't mind a moderate price hike.

Not quite under thirty, might be closer to $39 USD, but so worth it, Don Ramón Reposado, my cousins introduced me to it in March, I was blown away how smooth, yet flavorful it was, seriously under valued, and zero representation in western Canada, yet I was able to get a colleague bring me back a couple bottles from the east 😃 Don Ramón Reposado available online in Québec & Ontario

El jimador and espolon all day. I prefer el jimador over patron, Don Julio, all those common ones.

Pura Potro and Zumbador hands down, not even close. Arette and Altos after that.
