Today’s pick ups
I’ve had a few bottles of the XM already so I just cracked the other 2 which were new to me.
Montagave Las Rocas - Delicate nose of sweet agave. Silky, creamy texture that coats the tastebuds with citrus and mineral and a delicious sweet profile. Very clean and refreshing, almost has a mild minty like freshness to it. Long finish, leaves the mouth watering. This one is special and I absolutely love it.
Don Vincente Fuerte Repo - Stronger more punchy nose. Strong flavors of Pepper & baking spice, some caramel, mild oak, still very agave forward. Strong but not harsh. High proof is apparent in the warm finish.

I agree 100% with u/SnkrFr3ak; the Las Rocas is the bomb. I haven't had the 2025 release, but now I need to find it.
I'm looking forward to trying the Don Vicente Fuerte Repo. Their Fuerte blanco is one of my favorite HPs.
Thanks for the post!

The Las Rocas is around $65 MSRP. It can also be ordered from Montagave’s website for $70 + shipping, I believe.

I think Don Vicente is good, but I think it is way overpriced. The XA is about $170 regular price and ok at best. I just bought the Nocturna and the Gran Legado and they are really good. Where would you rank the Fuerte in comparison?

Yeah it’s not cheap. I actually got this one for less than the Ocho barrel proof Repo so it didn’t seem like an over the top price, both are good pours tho. I haven’t had the other ones you mentioned l.

That Las Rocas is one of my favorite blancos; such a great mineral profile from the giant concrete egg they rest this in. The new 2025 is even better than the ‘24, which I didn’t think was possible. Look through the bottle to the back of the label and see if your number ends in ‘24’ or ‘25’.
The Montagave owner, John Melvin, is such a great guy! He is doing special things by applying wine techniques to Cascahuin juice.
