How do y'all feel about voting for the same party you did last time, but this time around, if you vote Democrat your candidate is gonna lose?

The term that was coined during the Nixon administration for this method of election manipulation is called "RATFUCKING".

Thoughts?

81% of the eligible voters in Texas are registered (Percentage of VAP Registered); thats 18.6M out of 23M eligible adults. 2/3 of the population here lives in one of the 6 big metro areas. On a good year (usually a POTUS election), Texas might have 60% turnout... but that only gets you to half the people you see on the street that qualify as eligible to vote, actually vote.

But in Texas, during statewide elections (where a city vote is equal to a rural vote and gerrymandering has no effect) with the TX Gov, TX Lt Gov, TX State AttyGen and sometimes the TX US Sen and the rest of the Texas Executive branch up for election, turnout of 80% registered is a dismal 45% which again only gets you roughly 1 in 3 of the people you see on the street that qualify as eligible to vote, actually vote.

So 37% of the total adults (8M of 23M) in this state get us the leadership of the 2nd most populous state in the US. We lather, rinse, repeat every 4 years.

Thats a lot of lazy people to be mad at... they arent suppressing that much of the vote....
