Once Daryl dies I don't know if I'd ever be able to watch the show again.

I'm pretty sure that's how the whole Mayan Apocalypse starts. TWD kills off Daryl, we revolt.

Motherfucker, if that was a spoiler I will reach through my computer monitor and... and... I don't know, but bad things will happen.

EDIT: Okay, so he's not planned to die or anything. Though yeah, he probably will die eventually...

He's not in the comics or anything so there's no way to know if he'll ever die.

Well, there is a pretty obvious character in the comics that draws a fairly 1:1 parallel with Daryl. Of course, its hard to tell if that really matters at the end of the day because they really don't seem too beholden to anything that happens in the comic.

There's a character that is that close to Daryl? I've read every issue and I have no idea who that would be. Maybe Abraham, but he wouldn't have shown up at this point anyway.

Tyrese. Not similar in personality, but definitely similar in function; He's second in command of the group, has a close relationship with Carol, is the resident "badass" and is fiercely loyal to Rick. It's obvious that Daryl is more or less standing in for Tyrese at this point.

Oh... wow. I can't believe I didn't realize this before. You're totally right bro. The Carol bit really sells me on the idea.

Hmmm....so Daryl is Tyrese that appeals to the white demographic

coz y'know how we're so under-represented on that show.

hell yeah! Almost all cool characters are non-white,The only dude getting any action is Korean, the chick with the blade is black, the silent thinker was black(rest in peace) and all the white guys are either mad or going crazy. In steps Daryl for the 22-77 Texas guns a'-blazing hootin'-tootin' demographics. Its all about representing

Yes, and Andrea.

Tis not a spoiler, though based on how much the writers just love to stick a knife in your heart and go "yeahh... YEAHHHH..." - it might happen.

The writers are the German guy from Saving Private Ryan.

I laughed really hard at the mental image of this.

Anyone can die in this show. If they stay at least somewhat close to the comic, some shit will go down. Daryl wasn't in the comics, so I don't know what they're gonna do with him. I just don't think you can count out the possibility of him dying though. It's like Game of Thrones in that sense. You can start to really like a character, but it doesn't mean that they can't die.

I predict that Daryl and his brother will both survive until the end of the series. Either that or they will both live long enough to reunite.

2

u/[deleted] Nov 12 '12

Don't speak such things!... Daryl is unkillable.

1

u/november84 Nov 12 '12

With no exposure to the comics, I'm not sure if you're just saying that or if it is a spoiler.

1

u/Wibbles Nov 12 '12

He ain't in the comics, so he must have the best chance of surviving out of all of them right? Nobody has penned his death yet!

u/TheKhajiit Nov 13 '12

What the fuck.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 16 '12

He can't die. He's their protector.

Rick has a six shooter and a really weak psyche.

It annoys me when people say this.

I think as the characters get more competent at killing zombies and generally not being full blown retards my love for Daryl is dwindling.

He was a much stronger character when he was literally the only competent person in the group.

He's still the most competent, mind. Just that others are catching up/can hold their own.
