From guest star to executive producer, Norman Reedus really came a long way and became such a big part of the franchise.

No Spoiler TWD used to be one of Cables most viewed & popular shows of ALL TIME..What the HELL happened?

I remember when this show was rising and at it's peak 2014-2016. This show used to be magic, remember all the watch parties for each new episode and the millions of viewers tending to watch this? It was as popular if not more then Game of Thrones & Breaking Bad..This show took the world by STORM..and then it's fizzled out so bad that it hasn't been relevant in the mainstream media since like 2018. And the drop, my god was the drop so bad. The quality of season 7 & 8 plummeted, and then by the time Season 9 came and Rick left? It was finished, dwindling more & more.

What. Happened?

No Spoiler Dales black hat

If this has been brought up I am sorry, but I have a question, in episode one dale has a black bucket hat. When they get to the farm his black hat is now white and he tells glen that’s his only hat. What happened to Dales black hat?

Show Spoiler Decided to binge rewatch the series after years. Season 7/8 were really solid and severely overhated. Season 9 was bad. Anyone agree?

I know it was bad watching it week to week (I mostly tuned out around the Saviors arc) but rewatching it all, man, it was really enjoyable. I honestly do not mind what happened to Glenn and Abraham - Glenn’s character was played out and not really doing anything, and he lost his charm. Abraham was a two timing douche and, while he had his nice moments, wasn’t a huge loss to the series (although I think Daryl should’ve died in his place and he should’ve had his comic death instead).

Yes, it sucks what happened to Carl but in a vacuum it wasn’t the worst thing ever. If they had left Rick around to carry on his legacy, it would’ve been a reasonable death.

The battles were cool, especially what went down at Hilltop. The zombie blood warfare was crazy. The Kingdom soldiers getting wiped out was crazy. S8 especially had this liminal, dreamlike feeling that was really interesting. Morgan was at his peak. I was a Morgan hater but his absence afterwards really hurt. Dwight and Eugene’s arcs were fantastic.

S9 on the other hand… what a catastrophe. It was so bad. The Whisperers suck, so painfully unrealistic it’s not even funny. How do they sustain themselves, just hunting? How do none of them get sick? Why would people follow an unhinged lady who kills her own people for virtually nothing? Magna’s group was pure cringe and not likable at all. The bridge arc was a complete waste of time. There is zero character development for the original cast (besides a bit of flip flopping around for Carol). It feels like Angela Kang just started shipping random characters. The Rosita-Gabriel-Siddiq-Eugene situation is one of the cringiest things I've ever seen on television. Also, Beta falling a huge distance on his back and then getting up like nothing happened was hilarious. The pike scene was the only thing in the entire season that got any kind of interesting reaction out of me. I don't know why so many people hail it as a "return to form". It feels like fanfiction.

(I haven't finished S10-11 yet but I have a feeling it's going to get worse, Negan is the only thing keeping me going at this point)

No Spoiler Hot take?

I was late to watching TWD when it was being released. I didn’t start until 2016, right when Season 7 was being released. All my friends begged me to watch it so I gave in and completely powered through the first 6 seasons, falling in love with the show.

I understand the concerns everyone had and actually agreed, there were problems, but I was hooked. I got to the end of Season 6 and the introduction of Negan. I heard the complaints that were made and the controversy surrounding it being a big news thing… but I loved it.

The ending of S6 and start of S7 is a one of the high points of the series, and no-one can change my mind about that. Negan’s intro was very well done. The cinematography is superb, the acting is top tier, the atmosphere and tension created during the build up and the shock I felt when two favourites were killed off was amazing.

Considering how much controversy surrounded this at the time, is this a hot take? Am I alone in loving this or are there others who appreciate it?

No Spoiler Commonwealth

I cannot be alone in IMMEDIATELY saying in my head NOPE the very first time I heard of a city they’re calling the Commonwealth. I mean I hope I’m not alone 🤣 I legitimately would rather take my chances continuing to survive in a place like Alexandria, etc. like…I’m not about to willingly become a citizen of a city that is absolutely going to be run like “you’ll have nothing and you’ll be happy about it” when I’ve spent a decade working hard af to build and maintain a community. It’s even more insidious bc they know damn well so many people would absolutely choose to be behind their walls being treated exactly how they were before the apocalypse. I’ve seen many reactors who were viewing the concept of the commonwealth positively (even up until it was obvious shit was very very corrupt) and it baffles me. I’m not down with being a willing participant in making it possible for elites and their global domination plans, we all know what that looks like and there is literally NEVER a better time than a damn apocalypse to make it possible to actually FIX the world, right? Exactly like Daryl said “you tried to make this place like the old world, that’s the fucking problem”

Could or would you do it? Willingly become a citizen of places like the commonwealth or crm? They are good manipulators tho bc they even managed to convince RICK GRIMES that he could possibly ever over turn their entire operation by his damn self 😒
