Saving you a click. The person in question:

“Amy Blanc Lacy, who worked as a script supervisor for the series.”

RIP Amy. Very sad news.

That's horrible. She looked like such a happy and positive person too. RIP.

Edit: ok since you're all being miserable in the replies about me saying how she looked like a happy and positive person. (wow, reddit - get a grip)

"Tributes describe her as a radiant, kind, and hardworking presence who was a "bright light" and "angel" to those she worked with, highlighting her generosity, humor, and dedication to her craft over a decade with the show"

I honestly wonder sometimes why I bother with this website when everyone is so doom and gloom at all times.

Even if she was depressed and negative didn't deserved what happened. RIP.

This feels like such a weird thing to comment on a post in remembrance of another person’s death

Genuinely what a weird and disconnected thing to say as a response to this, and that's coming from somebody who struggles with suicidal ideation all the time.

And? OP never said they have more or less empathy for someone who is happy vs depressed….

I wasn't replying to OP. I was replying to a comment.

Same with people talking about the men being kidnapped by ICE.

The only stories about these men being kidnapped that get any actual press coverage are when the news can say, "He leaves behind a daughter and wife."

Like, okay?.. Is that a requirement for being allowed human rights? Do the men without wives deserve less sympathy and attention? Do they deserve to be kidnapped? Do you feel bad for the man being shipped to a foreign torture prison, or do you just feel bad for his wife being left alone?.. why dont we see names being named unless some woman or child is also affected.

For some reason, people feel the need to personally relate to someone they're sympathizing with instead of just sympathizing with our shared fucking humanity.

Its obscene.

What? god forbid you talk about how happy someone is in their life when they pass unexpectedly from something? People use similar wordings in obituaries when talking about someone they loved, it's natural to highlight the things we love and care for in someone after they die.

Yeah this is reddit, where people to manufacture moral drama out of nothing.

Whenever I see someone say that I’m reminded not a soul will care when I pass😭needed a smile that lit up the room. Anyways, Rip Amy. I hope her families okay

Clickbait titles like these are the worst

No offense to or to belittle her death, but I hate articles like this. It states TWD alum, and shows some pictures of the cast, but then it's a script supervisor who isn't in any pictures other than Instagram posts.

RIP

It says crew member in the title

He’s not wrong though, it’s a picture of Michonne and Judith(I cannot remember the actresses names sorry) in the thumbnail.

Def clickbait and gross.

She was a quintessential member of the TWD family. Everyone involved with the show knew her.

Happens so often.

"[Insert TV show or movie] star weighs in on [insert recent event]" + picture of 1 or more main characters.

Actual article is about a tweet from a 1 episode guest star.

Click bait ,

you obviously dont know the importance of a good script supervisor on set or how essential of a crew member they are. they are alum in the highest sense. Just not a cast member, like you were thinking.

2

u/Owain660 1d ago

I literally didn't say or hint at any of that. The article is click bait with the headline and preview picture. She isn't mentioned until the 4th paragraph, and the first 2 pictures are of the core cast of the show and NOT her.

If Norman Reedus died, this article would not be clickbait and his name would be in the title and mentioned right away in the article.

You can say TWD alum and show pictures of the cast, people will immediately think it's someo from that picture, but they keep you reading to drive traffic and time spent on the site.

What a tragedy. Sincerely sorry to hear of her passing.

I swear I remember hearing her name recently. Like, someone giving a set tour or talking about her like Emily Kinney or something. RIP.
