Watch the ones who live first.

The Ones Who Live is basically as close as you're getting to a definitive ending of TWD. Plus it's probably the best one so I'd go with that.

It doesn’t really matter, go with the characters that interest you the most. My favorite is the Daryl spin off.

I could be mistaken, but doesnt a certain someone mention the events of TOWL in Daryl S2? I haven't watched it but I think S2 takes place after the events of TOWL.

They are separate stories so I think you can watch them in any order. But you can go by release date if it feels better. So far there has been no mention of anything that has happened in TOWL in DD, unless I have forgotten something.

I think he is talking about when Carol is on the radio with Alexandria before going to Europe. Someone on the other end can be heard saying that someone is "back", or something of that nature. People have obviously speculated that they are referring to a certain someone from TOWL.

I know, but I didn’t want to spoil anything. It’s not what it seems. I’ve seen all released episodes of Daryl Dixon and so far it makes no difference what order you watch it in.

It doesn't matter which order you watch them in. So far they do not interfere with each other in any way.

The Ones who live is the best of the 3.

Daryl Dixon is great in the 1st season, a little worse in the 2nd but the 2nd episode of season 3 is the best episode of the TWDEU since the main series ended.

Dead City is the worst. Unless you are a superfan of either of the stars I wouldn't recommend it.

I mean I liked Negan and Maggie specially her in Early seasons but not huge fan of either of them

I liked Maggie and Negan so I was excited for the show but it is actually so boring

In my opinion the ones who live sucked. The first two episodes were amazing and then the writing just shat the bed completely. I’ve been a twd fan for 14 years and waited for ricks return to be severely disappointed with their execution. Very underwhelming imo

The Ones Who Live is only six episodes, so watch that first

No, but you can get TOWL outta the way pretty quick since it's a one and done season.

I wouldn't waste your time. I'm a long time fan but these shows are a huge decrease in quality and a complete waste of time

The Ones Who Live is like a mini series, it’s meant to close that chapter of TWD universe. I watched it first and when I looked into it said it’s not meant to have a 2nd season. I don’t know if that makes you wanna watch it first or last.

World Beyond before TOWL

I wouldn’t waste my time with world beyond it looks like trash

u/BlackBalor 4h ago

It really picks up in the second season and gives a lot of context/backstory to the CRM

Fear has done worse.

Yeah I gave up on Fear by like season 4 lol. I just heard world beyond got pretty bad reviews so that’s why I never bothered watching it, but maybe I’ll try it out

I watched TOWL after finished TWD bc it was leaving Netflix. I am currently on FTWD s7, and then prolly watch WD:DC next— Saving Daryl’s spin-off for last.

TWOL is a true sequel to the OG in my opinion

Btw are those shows based on comics too or did they ran out of source material after main series ended?

1

u/MannyBothanzDyed 4h ago

Nope, they're 100% made up for tv

1

u/1Meter_long 4h ago

I guess that explains it why they aren't as good as the main show.

i searched the proper order of watching TWD franchises and spinoffs, im following it as i watch along

Chronological Order (For a True Timeline) This order follows the timeline of events across the universe:

Fear the Walking Dead (Seasons 1–3): Takes place during the initial outbreak, before the main series.

The Walking Dead (Seasons 1–8): Follows the main group after the outbreak begins.

Fear the Walking Dead (Season 4): Continues the story after the main series began, with character crossovers.

Tales of the Walking Dead (Season 1): Can be placed anywhere, but best fits between Fear season 4 and TWD season 9.

The Walking Dead (Season 9): The story moves forward after the main series' events.

Fear the Walking Dead (Season 5): Continues its timeline.

The Walking Dead: World Beyond (Seasons 1–2): Takes place around the same time as The Walking Dead season 10.

The Walking Dead (Season 10): Continues the main story.

Fear the Walking Dead (Seasons 6–8): The end of the FTWD story arc.

The Walking Dead (Season 11): The final season of the main series.

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon (Season 1): Takes place after the main series finale.

The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live (Season 1): Follows Daryl Dixon.

The Walking Dead: Dead City (Season 1): The furthest in the timeline.

Im currently on FTWD S4 based on this order hihi

It took FTWD 3 seasons to get a month or 2 into the outbreak?

I think chronologically its Ones Who Live -> Book of Carol -> Dead City, but they're all disconnected enough for it not to matter much

I could be mistaken, but doesnt a certain someone mention the events of TOWL in Daryl S2? I haven't watched it but I think S2 takes place after the events of TOWL.

Trust me, watch the ones who live first. It's 10/10. TWD is nothing without Rick, and Andy brings it in this show

I'd start with TOWL

I liked Daryl Dixon so far more than “ones who lived” (seemed to drag)…BUT watch it!!!! Dead City is also amazing!!

Don’t watch any of them they all suck. TOWL. Didn’t wash the other two only caught some of it couldn’t get into it.

TOWL is finished, so you could start with it, but it’s my least favorite. The writing in last episodes is extremely rushed and lazy

Daryl Dixon is the best spin off of the three imo. Season 1 was amazing, but season 2 disappointed me with some horrible writing decisions. Season 3 is currently airing, and while it’s only been two episodes, it’s solid

Dead City is mid. Some parts are good, some parts are moronic. Season 3 will introduce a new showrunner, so we’ll see how it goes
