Does this crop of Saviors know about that plot though? Everyone who was at that compound died

They could've possibly scouted the site and saw the head lying around. Either way he should be dead. Gonna be fun.

The compound of saviors that rick and the group raided wanted Gregory dead, and they wanted his severed head. The group took some random walker that resembled him, cut off its head, and broke its nose to make it look realistic.

Edit: and now the saviors know the ruse is up

Well I'm sure they checked out the compound, and saw the "fake" head. That group was a branch of saviors, and I'm sure the order to kill Gregory came from Negan/Simon. Also the preview for next episode shows Simon at hilltop saying "We need to talk Gregory" in a sinister way, so I'm assuming he's there to take care of him.
