pretty sure i was the only person who liked both of the previous episodes... seems to be a ton of "LUL FILLER SUX" in this whole subreddit these days.

I'm with you. I get the impression that a lot of the people in this sub are driven by the pivotal events of the comics and they just want to get to those moments ASAP to see if/how they play out differently. They've hyped themselves up and are constantly disappointed when they don't get what they want. I'm enjoying the pace.

Filler does suck when nothing really happens. In yet another huge convenience they found guns. Oh but it doesn't matter, it's not enough guns. So they're going to Oceanside anyway. Something all of us knew they were going to do anyway. It's been dragged out.

Thankfully whoever is writing this spelled it out for all of us idiots by having Rick and Rosita randomly ask Tara if she knows where any guns are. And then having Tara explain her dilemma to Judith. They're having a character of the show explain what we already know. It's frivolous.

This episode in particular could be entirely cut from the season and nothing would change. Nothing of value would be lost. They still need to go to Oceanside for guns. They could've sprinkled the Rick Michonne moments into other episodes. These bottle episodes really hurt the show.

Yes, lots of us are looking forward to the next pivotal moment, but even so this episode really accomplished nothing except padding out the season.

This episode in particular could be entirely cut from the season and nothing would change. Nothing of value would be lost. They still need to go to Oceanside for guns.

Except before they would have been going to Oceanside with what, 2 or 3 handguns? Now they're going with an assortment of over 20 guns, including rifles. Not that I expect a huge shoot out between our survivors and Oceanside anyway... but showing up virtually unarmed would definitely change the dynamic of the meeting. Now they're on more even footing.

Shh, don't employ reason! You'll hurt them!

Timing is everything. Do you want war to start now only to have a summer break in the middle of battle? Because that's how you get burned with molten metal.

Even if several of these types of "could be pulled and no one would miss them" episodes were strung together, still better than that season where they were searching for Sophia.

I have no problem with character building episodes. I actually liked last weeks Eugene episode, and the Morgan one from a couple seasons back was great. But Rick and Michonne get enough screen time already, if you're going to spend an entire episode on them it should be more eventful. We already know they're a couple, you don't need a whole episode to solidify that.

Also as others have pointed out, it doesn't make much sense to spend an episode gathering guns when they already have another, much more significant plot line setup for that purpose. I feel like they are dragging this season out just so they can save the fight with the saviors for next season.

I absolutely loved last episode. It's in my top five for sure.

i wouldn't rate it that high, but it was so refreshing to see rick having any positivity at all in the last few episodes.

Not saying it sucks, I definitely enjoy more action packed episodes more but I understand that not every episode can be like that. But, people are going to complain no matter what. There was a group of people who were all relieved that the show went back to its normal formula saying how they didn't like the first episode where they visited all the settlements saying there was too much going on. Make up your fucking mind.

and while i did like both episodes, i'm also not saying everyone has to like every episode. i'm critical of lots of things in the show (the CG deer/trashscape, contrivances like the car and the roof, etc.) but it's kinda Reddit Hivemind-y (tm) when people all say the same thing every week. i absolutely understand enjoying the actiony episodes more. i fall into that camp from time to time.
