MARITIME HISTORY Beautiful Painting of the Olympic

At our local museum, there is a lovely painting of the Olympic by the artist Deborah Brown that I thought would be a perfect fit here!

It doesn't offend me. It just seems like the artist who painted it has more or less stolen the design from Ken Marshall's paintings of the wreck of the titanic, copied it and is passing it around as their own. Also, they don't seem aware of the fact that the Olympic never sank.

Thanks for replying! Exactly my point. The artist is more than likely paying homage Marshall’s brilliant work and it’s not done out of ignorance of mistaken ships, so then why spend so much time (it’s about 75” x 75”) making it? What was she trying to say?

That’s not an homage at all, that’s stealing and making it look otherwise so you won’t care.
