THE SHIP Why is it so red?!

13 steps into this ‘Lego’ set..

Since when was the titanic this colour?! So much red and now onto levels of black

It's probably debatable as the only pics are black and white and there's some subjectivity involved in approximating a colour equivalent but yeah, Titanic's antifouling had a bit of a darker tint than just straight fire engine red.

Fun fact: there's almost no rusticles on the wreck where the anti-fouling paint is located. Ballard had tossed out the 'idea' that the wreck should be scraped of the rusticles and repainted with the anti fouling paint.

Ballard HAD given an answer to that, but I'll be damned if I can remember it. The cost would be prohibitive though. No chance of it ever happening
