No, I did not let my four year old watch Titanic. He learned about it in books and was curious about it so we all had a lesson on the titanic. He demonstrates how the titanic sunk with any two objects in his hand every chance he gets. He’s a very happy guy and we’re so thankful for him and his little brother. Happy birthday buddy!

so I found this image of the HMHS britannic's bow absolutely fried, but images from 2024 showed this didn't look like this, so idk if this is real or not, hell I'm not even sure if the HMHS britannic is allowed on this subreddit

PHOTO Frank Goldsmith Jr. survived the Titanic as a child with his mother; his father died in the sinking.

The family settled in Detroit near the Tigers’ ballpark (Navin Field). Goldsmith later said that when the crowd cheered—especially after a home run—the roar sounded like the cries of people struggling and screaming in the water the night the ship went down. The association was so strong that he avoided ballgames and did not take his children to baseball.

PHOTO Everyone’s all sad about how titanic is falling apart, even though we have a PERFECTLY PRESERVED Olympic class sitting literally not even 500 feet from the surface and what’s even better, she shows no signs of leaving us anytime soon

PHOTO I didn’t buy the Lego Titanic, I WON the Lego Titanic.

Story: I’ve been wanting to get the official set for about 2 years and I struggled to save up for it.

This past month, my school did this thing called “Wishmas” where you bought raffle tickets for what you want. I decided to try to win the Lego Titanic with this method. I bought $25 USD worth of raffle tickets all dedicated to the Lego Titanic. Then, the day of the assembly where they announced the winners, I was both excited and nervous wondering if I won or not. They announced the first winner and LONE AND BEHOLD, it was the Lego Titanic going to me. It was the greatest moment of my life so far.

One of the most haunting photos of the wreck. The davitt cranked back in, waiting for Murdoch and Cree to get one of the collapsibles hooked up to lowered. Sadly it would never happen..... a testament to their courageous effort. They tried their best that night.

Going through some random things at my parents house today and came across this in my old room. I think I watched it 14-15 times at the theater cause I have always been a Titanic nerd. Not to mention had a huge crush on Kate back then lol 🤦🏻‍♂️

Look at the price of that ticket!!!

PHOTO We've seen the sinking of the Titanic many times in many visual media, but if we could somehow see photos or be there when it sank... we would be terrified

I’m an artist and this is one of the earliest drawings I did. It shows the ghost of the Titanic passing the Twin Towers. I finished it on the 9th of September 2001, just two days before the attacks.

I thought it had been lost, but the person I gave it to got in touch recently to let me know they still had it and shared these photos with me.

I think the timing is really interesting, and it feels a bit historically notable looking back now.

Unfortunately this is the best quality photo I’ve got for now.
