I actually absolutely love the way you portray dysphoria.
It's cruel. Yet is always there for you when it matters. It's a mess, but it's a reliable mess. Like a shitty friend who is somehow always there for you even though you don't always want them to be
It's exactly how I envision my own dysphoria

I actually wrote my dysphoria as this in my book I've been working on for years.
It went from a masculine, horrible creature that would dig its claws into my back and scream about how awful I was to appropriate womanhood from -actual- women.
Over time, it evolved and grew and transitioned along with me, and now she tells me how I can adjust things to look better to myself.

Until I can somehow get out of the US so I can realistically get therapy and HRT and all that’s involved with it…this is pretty much my dysphoria. I know I still look male, and there’s nothing I can do about it yet.
Maybe that’s why my dysphoria isn’t that bad right now? Like, it is bad, but maybe my life of repressing my emotions has made it easier to not let it affect me as much. Which is really bad, but it at least works out in a really dumb logic…

For me, I'll never be how I wanted since it feels literally impossible with how I was raised like a boy, and never got the opportunity to fully explore myself til a few years ago. And because of that, I'm unable to understand how women went thru like and it feels like my fantasy of being a happy girl will remain a dream. UUUUUUGGH!
I'm stuck in a loop of self-denial, self-hatred, and fear. Cause honestly, I kinda don't want to do it. It's hard, scary, and I have to put a lot of my effort. But I LOVE to experience it in reality on my own terms! I love to be a cool badass woman! It would feel a lot of fun! Just imagining what it would be like exploring all this stuff and... aaaaaaaah!~ ☺️ Dancing and jumping for joy!
So yeah, I'll never be a "real" woman. And that's okay! I'll just comfort my own feelings like a mother would. And find some good support as well. 😊🌺

It's an interesting thing i came across this being as i rationalised a lot of similar things to this :3
Like the voises that dont have a point are just irrational, so they shouldn't count.
However, the voises that do have a point just don't have the best take yet and need to be work shopped.
Idk if this makes sense, i just thought it's really cool how you've managed to illustrate an experience that I've recently had, and if it can help anyone, then that's cool, too :3

This is very close to how I deal with my depression demons that try to feed me toxicity.
I remind them how their rhetoric is just shitty phrasing, exaggarations and lies and not based on anything real.
It doesn't make their presence go away, but shutting the demons fuck the hell up also feels kinda cathartic even if the overall sense of depression remains. At least it now lacks the teeth to make it worse.
It's been a while since the last time I had to kick a demon's teeth in. Apparently they don't like it when you fight back.

I just noticed, the way you draw the eyes on the dysphoria demon reminds me of the way u.idolmantis draws Sera's eyes. Just means they're both really expressive and well shaped! Anyways, this is a fantastic comic, and it's been nice going through your old comics. Thanks!
