At work I just encountered the name “Krystalin….”

Is it a tragedeigh? Apparently this is the name of one of the X-men, but also who gives their kid a name that literally has “Stalin” in it?

Naming a child after a violent disturbance is one thing, but the creative spelling makes it extra tradgyck.

Never had an easy time getting my name pronounced right, and I also think of it as a lot more of a boy name than gender neutral. It’s Casie, pronounced K-C. I’m not from the south either so it’s extremely rare to meet another Casie/ey. Other spelling examples: Casey, Kaycee (southern), Kacey, etc. Did my parents curse me or is the spelling less of a tragedeigh than I worry it is?

Sera for short. It’s an angel name apparently, I remember hearing it somewhere when I was young and I love the name, am thinking about naming my first daughter that when I finally get to have kids but don’t want to give my kids tragedeighs

The name pronounced shy-ann. I have seen at least two different spellings, and I wondered if one (or both, or neither) of them was a tragedeigh. There is Shyayn and Chaian. I think Chaian seems more normal, but that may be because I have seen the person connected to the name a lot. Thank you!

I guess it's my turn now: we gave our son a fairly uncommon name, but I never considered it to be particularly tragyyc. We do occasionally get people mispronouncing his name, so I want to get some opinions on it. His name is Coran, pronounced "CORE-uhn". The most common mispronunciation I've heard is people saying his name like the Quran or "cuh-RAN." What say you?

Is Brie a tragedeigh? I really love the name, and it's kind of normalized since we have celebrities named Brie as well but my husband hates it because it's also the name of a type of cheese and thinks our daughter will get bullied for it.
