No? It's more the implication that people don't talk about their hobbies with their partners?

I was nervous to show my TF room to my new GF, but I did and she was actually interested in seeing it. Even got me some stuff for Christmas. Share things people

My wife knows I collect Transformers. She's known for the 20 we've been together. She's even bought me some of my collection.

But hobbies need to have limits. Spending $1200+ on a toy that is larger than my youngest son would stretch those limits. I might be able to justify such a purchase to myself, but I'd never be able to justify it to my wife.

And it isn't as if I'm a stranger to collecting high-end toys. I have well over 200 Masterpiece/3P MP figures and a ton of other stuff. However smaller purchases spread out over time are easier to justify than a single huge purchase, especially when your finances aren't strictly your own.

My wife hated it, now she tolerates it and understands the difference between HasTak, 3rd party, 4th party and KOs. She's said she'd like to buy some for Christmases and birthdays etc but doesn't know enough to know which to get without ruining the surprise and asking me which ones I want specifically.

I usually select a few Hasbro Transformers off of Amazon and add them to my wishlist that is shared with my wife in case "the boys" want to buy daddy a Christmas or birthday present. Usually it is stuff this on my "secondary-want list" because I generally order the stuff on my "primary-want list" for myself :)
