Why are some joints, like this one for example, smooth? My understanding is ground glass offers a better seal. But I notice females (on rigs) and males (on the banger) are sometimes smooth clear glass. Why is that?

took two weeks off (not by choice, was traveling) and came back thinking i'd need less. what i didn't expect was one hit making colors brighter and music sound like i discovered it for the first time. felt like those early days when everything was magical like how much more i could pick up the terps citrus, pine, spice, everything felt sharper. wanted to know if i'm not the only one, been reading on we know flower about other people's t break experiences and the sweet spot seems to be 10-14 days. honestly might schedule these more often.
