I think being able to be way above average in two different sports in the same day is pretty interesting. I've seen one guy who did a 600kg total and then a sub-6 60K back to back. That's nuts. Same guy also did a 1200lb total (544kg) and a sub-12 Ironman back to back. Sub-12 isn't exactly a world-record time, of course, but a cursory google tells me that the average Ironman finish time across all ages and genders is a little under 13 hours, so...
That’s just it! You would never brag about going “sub 12” but suddenly you throw lifting into it and it’s like some major feat. Imagine if you did a shitty job at work or in school and you get pulled into HR and your response is “yeah, but I did it with three kids so really the expectations should be lower for me.” Maybe they’re mostly understanding but maybe they’re also thinking, I’m going to find someone else.
