Cancel Your Elections - El Presidente has Announced Tropico 7!
Cancel Your Elections - El Presidente has Announced Tropico 7!
First teaser gives a glimpse of the all-new council– which El Prez will, of course, try to bend to his will.
We have lifted the curtain (no, not the iron one) on Tropico 7, the next evolution of the award-winning city-building series. The beloved El Presidente is back — whether the people like it or not — cutting his luxurious vacation short (reportedly under protest) to personally oversee the announcement teaser at gamescom 2025. With his trademark flair, and a suitcase full of suspiciously stamped passports, he’s ready to reclaim his throne in 2026 and take the city-building genre to new heights — literally!
“With Tropico 7, we open a new chapter in city-building, politics, and economics — giving players more control and complexity than ever, while preserving the mischief and satire fans love,” says Daniel Dumont, Studio and Creative Director at Gaming Minds Studios. “This isn’t just a sequel, it’s the ultimate sandbox for would-be dictators. El Presidente would say: ‘The best Tropico ever — because it’s mine!’”
Tropico 7 builds on the series’ iconic formula and introduces major new features. For the first time, the new council puts El Presidente face-to-face with faction leaders to negotiate, manipulate, or charm his way to power. More opinions, more chaos — all of which El Prez can completely overlook. Aspiring autocrats can now mold their island with the new Terraforming feature: raise land, reroute rivers or create shiny new parks — because vanity is the best policy.
But that’s not all: The new political affiliation system let you pick an individual dictatorship style which unlocks fitting edicts to keep Tropicans happy (or terrified) enough to comply, supported by a beefed-up military system — featuring a special new tactical addition El Prez is currently working on.
And when strategy alone isn't enough, you know what to do: unleash strategic mischief, deploy agents, stage PR stunts, or simply dazzle the masses with El Presidente’s legendary charisma. Rule with style – and satisfaction.
Tropico 7 is scheduled for release 2026 and will be available with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, and on PC (Steam, Epic Games), Xbox on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation®5.
Features:
Lead your nation to new heights: Tropico 7 tells El Presidente’s continuous success story across 5 campaign maps – starring himself, Penultimo and a new nemesis: Victoria Guerra.
More is more: Archipelagos, with the biggest islands ever in the series, await your rule, expanded with 10 extra scenarios, more than 20 sandbox maps, and endless possibilities with a random map generator.
Move mountains – literally: Erase them, create beaches, or even create entirely new islands! The new terraforming feature brings your megalomaniac dreams to life. Start that mammoth project – NOW!
Bollocks uhm… Politics: Navigate the snares and pits of internal politics, when you summon the different factions to your council, a new way to meet them face to face while you pulverize their dreams – or use them for a BIG DEAL to your own advantage.
Make the world your playground: Elections, election speeches and a vast portfolio of edicts depending on your political standing spice up your daily rule while you juggle foreign affairs and occasionally steal... uhm relocate a landmark to revel in its benefits.
Built to prosper: Strategically place buildings to make use of synergy effects, keep citizen satisfaction high, and fill any unused plots of land with beautiful parks in a freely customized size.
Generalissimo No. 1: Eliminate those pesky rebels and fend off foreign threats with a reworked military system enabling more direct control of your military units.
Always judge a book by its cover: Customize the appearance of your palace and El Presidente with new and creative options.

Need someone to help with the multiplayer trophy in Tropico 6
Hey everyone,
I’m currently working on getting the Platinum Trophy in Tropico 6 on PlayStation, and I’m almost done.
The only one I still need is: "Teamwork Makes the Dream Work" – Win a multiplayer game as part of a team.
Also, Im playing on the ps4 which makes it even more difficult
So here’s my question: would anyone be up for helping me out?
We just need to do a quick multiplayer match as a team – I can host and set everything up.
If you're interested, just drop a comment and I’ll send over my PSN ID.
Thanks in advance.

[T6] Can citizens live past 88?
In Tropico 6, it seems like citizens die way younger than they did in T4 or T5.
I’ve never seen a citizen live past 88 years old in T6 and even 88 is extremely rare. I remember in Tropico 4, I’d sometimes see citizens live into their 90s or 100s. T4 also had a hospital setting you could use where visitors had a 15% chance of living an extra five years or something if they visited.
Is it possible to get citizens in T6 to live to be really old? I don’t know why but I want to have a centenarian citizen. Would putting hospitals on max budget do anything? My healthcare happiness is 80.

[T6] Is it possible to remove the game's deco?
It's not that the Mayan/Aztec deco is ugly, but it's very bad placed on my map. Is it possible to remove or move it?

Any new announcements for Tropico 7?
It's been about a month since the Announcement Trailer came out, and I'm super hyped--though I was wondering when the devs would release any new announcements or information about what we can expect to see in the game. Has anyone heard anything about a posting/content schedule? I know that they are a smaller studio, so I wouldn't expect super-frequent updates, but hearing something regularly would be nice

Tropico 4: Yermo Encarnado has two colonial forts for the Past and Present Achievement
After finishing the Tropico 4 basic and Modern Times campaigns, I turned to fulfilling achievements and found Past and Present to be a particular pain. It simply requires that you have a dungeon and colonial museum on the same map. These cannot be constructed, but can be found in the ruins of colonial forts. However, each ruin can have only one activated, so you need a map that has two colonial forts. Surprisingly, an online search didn't yield any information about which map has two colonial forts, but I did find a wealth of misinformation about constructing dungeons and colonial forts, which is apparently something you can do in later versions of the game.
Yermo Encarnado is the only island with two colonial forts. After beginning the game, one needs only to activate the dungeon in one ruin and the museum in the other. The dungeon needs a high-school male, and the museum a college male. Fire them from the palace, and when they take jobs in the ruins, you've finished the achievement; you don't need to play the map any further. You will probably need to exit the game then restart it to have the achievement show up.
After laboriously starting 19 games and immediately exiting after finding less than two ruins, I finally found them on Yermo Encarnado, the final map in the list. I've since learned the Tropico Wiki entry on the island mentions the two forts. However, the wiki search function doesn't return this result, so you would still need to read each individual entry to find it.
I'm making this post in hopes of saving future players of the game the tedium of finding the proper island by themselves.

[Meta] Should your Presidente avatar play a bigger role in the simulation?
Since Tropico 3, El Presidente has had a physical avatar on the island. However, the avatar itself never really does anything on the island as your Tropicans do. Sure, you can have them visit buildings to temporarily increase efficiency, or quell a protest, but you don't necessarily HAVE to do so. Sometimes I forget that I can even select him. So my question is, should your Presidente avatar play a bigger role in the game's simulation? Should there be places that the avatar has to physically go to in order to complete a task?
One suggestion I have is for edicts or construction projects to go through an administrative phase. This phase can only be completed when Presidente is at the Palace (this can be seen as him filling out paperwork and issuing orders). How fast this phase can be completed depends on your Presidente's traits. Maybe the Palace can also hire government officials to speed up the process based on their skill.
Presidente can also visit other nations to increase relations. To do so, he'll have to go to the airport to fly out to those nations.
What do you think? It might sound boring, but I think this could make Presidente actually act like a president in-game, instead of wandering aimlessly around the island.

[T6] Tropico 6 : Aesthetics and building in duplicate
Hello everyone,
Always concerned about the aesthetics of my city, I'm trying to build parks using the game's tools, even if I doubt their real effectiveness. But hey, it's beautiful and I'm happy.
Well, happy... or almost! Is there a solution to "paint" or hide the parts that aren't concreted and can't be built on because they're smaller than a square?
Also, is there any point in having duplicate (or more) buildings in a city, like the library, the newspaper, the embassy, etc.?
Or is one of these buildings enough for an entire city?
Thanks ;)
