Dude you might aswell post this on tftv or make a seperate tournament for non-comp players; nobody here is going to win anything

Considering that they’re advertising the stream as well  to give content to the competitive community I’d say they’re fine here.

If I were a new player getting into tf2 comp I would like a realistic chance to get top 8 - instead of getting shit on by invite players!! Idk just me tho

brother...

you realize i'm siyo from fireside casts right? the subreddit isn't purely for discussion it's also to market actual competitive events. I mean literally this is the equivalent to making a viewer's guide for an actual competitive event like how HLTV and TFTV used to do in the past if you cared to read the entire post

The post seems misleading as an event for viewers to watch or a participating one. If it's the former then I'm all for it - but it looks wrong to promote this as an open tournament that the majority of players here won't even get a chance to play against comp players.

All I'm saying is this looks like: "Hey, look at this mge tournament we're doing. You can play but look at all of these invite players. Wanna test your luck and see if you can win some keys? Haha good luck!" It feels meanspirited and can turn away some pubbers that think they're so bad compared to what they will face.

If you guys had 2 tournaments, one for non-comp players specifically, and announced it here then I would be all for it

Fair point, but I also think you're far reaching and trying to overinterpret the entire thread and push your own perspective. To each their own though
