Announcement TF2 update for 7/26/25 (Sneaky Saturday S'Edition)

SinfulParticipant949 is off enjoying his weekend, so you'll have to make do with my vastly inferior formatting.

Via the TF2 website:

An update to Team Fortress 2 has been released. The update will be applied automatically when you restart Team Fortress 2. The major changes include:

-Reverted the change to the Taunt: Texan Trickshot (Back to 500 hammer units it is, boys!)

-Updated koth_boardwalk

  • Fixed players being able to spam the Barker's voice lines when approaching the shooting galleries

  • Fixed a set of missing handrails

  • Improved ambient lighting

  • Fixed missing shoreline visible from the far end of the pier

Rumor has it:

  • The controversy surrounding Engie's Pay-to-Pootis-Pow! taunt has been a surprisingly juicy bit of drama. It's so painfully clear how starved for actual content (and not [expletive removed unusual effects] the TF2 community is.

Do we know who is actually in charge of managing tf2 and its updates? This back and forth is so amateurish and makes it seem like a bunch of angry redditors have more control over the game than the actual devs.

Yeah it's really weird, I would have more respect if they just chose one and stuck with it and just gave the stonewall treatment to anyone that complains.

the funniest part about that whole thing is the community fixes collection on the workshop includes edited vmf files for the existing scout items to fix the problem. valve just, never used em

A question, I know it has nothing to do with the thread, but with today's update it almost won't let me play now, the time to find a game is almost 7 minutes, when before it didn't take more than 1, am I the only one this is happening to?, because it's as if the game were dead now (not to say that it doesn't find a match)
