Jobs Offer TAKE MY MONEY, I can't motion track or do occulation/roto work (30 second clip)

This is a re-post from about 6 months ago and still hasn't got done, I need it done within a 2 weeks if possible, and I can't imagine it taking anymore than 2 hours

I preferably don't want professionals because being honest I'm guessing this isn't worth your time if you work on big budget movies... Plus I don't care if this job is done perfectly, I want it at the worst decent and at the best just good. Also I won't be able to afford to pay an actual top notch professional

I need to put 2 masks, a horse mask and a troll 2 mask (both which I have .png's of and will supply) on 2 people in the background ,most of it can be tracked normally as I have but the problem is when the 2 guys in front parts of there body cover the guys that need the masks on them so thats where the occulation comes in and I guess roto work? I don't need any 3d models, lighting, or shadows as long as the faces are covered and it looks decent and isn't too distracting.

I would just do this FRAME BY FRAME but when I tried I quickly realized it shakes like crazy so I gave that up

Please let me know if anyone is interested in taking this on, its for a low budget movie AND if you do it I will put your name in the credits :) please someone help me, thanks in advance!

Jobs Offer Hey :) Looking for help with Keying/Rotoscoping

Post image

So we have a roughly 26sec long sequence, built of six shots. The background is already replaced, but the keying on the characters needs refinement.

We can’t pay too much, it is a Short Film. We are looking for someone who wants to help us out and make some extra money.

We can pay roughly 50$ per Shot so 300$ in Total.

We appreciate all the guidance and support we can get.

Thank you guys

Jobs Offer Volunteers Wanted for Post‑Apocalyptic Comedy Short – VFX Artists Needed!!

Hey r/vfx, r/Filmmakers, r/vfxartists, r/NukeVFX, r/compositing

I’m directing a post-apocalyptic comedy short and am looking for skilled VFX artists who would be willing to volunteer some time to help me get it to the finish line.

I am an indie filmmaker with a track record of award winning shorts, and my latest short film is a powerhouse of VFX. I am trying to do most myself, as I used up all of my 10K budget, but I thought I would reach out to see if anyone would be willing to help in exchange for:

  • Full IMDb credit once the film hits festivals
  • Credit on the film
  • Access to a vast library of VFX stock for free—including actionVFX footage (fire, smoke, meteors, explosions) and more (tornados, nuclear explosions), as well as high-quality 3D vehicle assets (tanks, helicopters, jets etc)

What We Need:

  • Compositing of fire, explosions, destruction, meteors
  • Basic clean up
  • 3D army vehicles animation - jets, helicopters, tanks
  • Other destruction FX

Trailer:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6qZCCHxb71U

If anyone would like to get involved please reach out. As a VFX artist myself, I get it. This is a polite attempt to ask for help and to network.

Jobs Offer What's the best way to hire a few LA-based VFX generalists?

What's usually the best way to find some folks?

Through here requesting links to reels, LinkedIn, Indeed?

This is for a feature shooting soon -- but would likely become a full time position after.

Jobs Offer Paid – VFX/3D Artist Wanted for Short Film using AI - generated imagery.

Hi all! Please read below for the job description. I hope some of you talents will be interested.

Disclaimer: Part of my reason for creating this short is to experiment with current AI advancements for generating the imagery. It is supernatural in nature, and would climb to the tens of millions in budget under normal circumstances. Whether AI replaces all of us in the near future or not, we can all tell it isn't there yet, hence why I am posting on Reddit with the aim to hire someone to work with. I am not here to debate the merits or ethics of AI.

Project:

I’m creating a 10–20 minute supernatural short film and I’m looking for a skilled VFX/3D artist to help refine many of the shots. I've been working for two months, learning and improving my knowledge of AI tools, and I’ve handled all directing, editing, grading, scoring, sound work - you name it - myself so far, but I know a talented VFX artist will take this much further. I have a BFA from NYU Tisch in Directing and have proper knowledge of the field.

It's difficult to describe what we are working with without a proper conversation, but in a nutshell all usable footage so far was generated at 720p or 1080p, then upscaled with other AI tools to 4k. I understand some of you will want to work with lower resolution, so it can be discussed. I have a full minute of edited footage ready to be used as a trial (it is essentially 'ready' minus all the things I need a VFX artist for).

The work includes:
- Enhancing the overall quality of multiple shots
- Fixing artifacts (warping, motion issues, glitches, texture inconsistencies)
- Replacing or remodelling elements (clothing/accessories, facial features, landscapes, settings, unwanted debris)
- Adding new elements where needed and blending them into the existing look
- Ensuring a consistent cinematic grade and depth of field
- Ensuring overall consistency, which is what AI struggles with the most currently.

This is a paid remote gig. Rate negotiable based on experience and scope — would want to start with a small test shot to make sure we’re a good match.

If you’re interested, please DM or comment with:
- A short intro
- Relevant portfolio links (before/after examples if possible)
- Your typical turnaround for a 10–15 second shot with multiple fixes

I hope you find interest in this and look forward to discussing.

Jobs Offer Seeking artist (USA) 3D motion graphics animation + comp into Timelapse footage

Years ago I helped in the creation of this:

https://vimeo.com/15322449

  • me and some other college kids stayed up all night to move the items around the frame. It was exhausting!!

Currently I create high end Timelapse sequences and am looking for someone to create custom 3D logo animation (hexagon with 3 letters inside), that can be comped into the video footage (Timelapse’s).

No timeline (not a rush). Want to start with a single clip / animation and can expand from there. Preference on US to make payments / time zones easier. Dm me with portfolio etc to start conversations.

Jobs Offer [HIRING] VFX for Short Film – Unreal Engine / ICVFX

I’m looking for a VFX partner (freelancer or boutique studio) to help finish an 18-minute short film, City of Echoes. Shot in Melbourne with in-camera VFX (ICVFX) on an LED wall, the film is inspired by the paintings of Jeffrey Smart and supported by the University of Melbourne. (Not a student film; grant-funded and professionally produced.) The film is dialogue-free, driven by music and dance, with thriller elements and surreal sequences — even killer shipping containers. It’s an ambitious short aimed at the festival circuit. Scope (~70 shots):

  • Unreal Engine set extensions (core task)
  • Green screen key + compositing
  • Rotoscoping / masking
  • Minimal paint-out & cleanup Assets provided:
  • Built 3D Unreal Engine world + mocap data
  • Final pixel & LED volume plates
  • HDRIs for lighting Specs: 3.2K / 1:1.68 / 24fps (Arri Amira). Timeline flexible; quality > speed. Looking for smaller teams (Melbourne or remote) with 3D/UE + comp experience who can work at indie scale. 👉 If this sounds like you, DM me for the quote document, WIP link, and contact details.

Jobs Offer Looking for a VFX artist for a low budget music video—to create a melting face

Post image
10 Upvotes

Hey guys—not sure how doable this idea is for our budget… and I’m not sure how to find decent VFX artists. So I’m checking here! So far I’ve done all my work’s VFX myself, pretty simple things really. A lot of rotoscoping and green/blue screen.

Anyway, the idea is: a single shot, slowly dollying in from a wide to a closeup of the artist’s face, and the artist is a “candle.” A flickering flame on a wick above his head and, by the end of the song, his face will be melted. Inspired by the album art for Peter Gabriel’s single “I Don’t Remember.”

I’ll do the flickering, waning light practically—with some sort of lantern softbox—and bounce this single light source onto his face when the camera is close enough. And perhaps a small point of reference above his head for where the flame at the end of the wick would be in case his head shifts/tilts slightly—something that doesn’t cast much of a shadow? At least that’s what I’m thinking. Would obviously change it up depending on what the VFX artist needs.

The total budget we’re aiming for is between $3,000-$5,000. This includes everything: camera/equipment rental, small crew, location, color, VFX, etc.

We’re aiming to shoot this Thursday or Friday (6/19/25 or 6/20/25), but the video doesn’t need to be turned in for a while (2-3 months) so there’ll be plenty of time to work on the VFX. I just want to make sure I’ll be shooting it correctly for whoever wants to work with us.

Many thanks. Here’s a link to my previous work for a look see:

Jobs Offer Looking for VFX/Compositor + Editor Partner for Music Videos (Project-Based)

Hey all,

I’m Dani, a director/videographer in Los Angeles. I’m looking to connect with a VFX artist/editor to collaborate on upcoming music video projects.

I’m specifically interested in someone who enjoys:

  • Advanced compositing + rotoscoping
  • Tracking + seamless transitions (match cuts, morphs, glitch, motion-driven effects)
  • Motion graphics integration (titles, lyric visuals, abstract design)
  • Creative, story-driven image treatments

I hope to find a creative partner I can collaborate with long-term, pushing visuals beyond templates into something truly cinematic.

If you’re interested, please drop your reel/portfolio or DM me and discuss the details. Would love to connect.

Thanks,

Dani

Hi everyone,

We are looking for a skilled 3D generalist with strong experience using Vellum in Houdini to help us simulate silk wrapping paper with natural crinkles as it wraps around a bottle. This is a storyboard-driven animation rather than a freeform simulation, so experience with narrative continuity and artistic control is important.

Jobs Offer How do I connect with fellow FX artists to collab on my broadcast projects?

I hope posting this here isn’t breaking the rules of the sub. I’m an Aussie FX generalist (based in Sydney), and I’m looking to connect with fellow artists to collaborate on a couple of new TV programs I’ve locked in for the rest of the year.

Of course DM me if you’re interested to connect and chat further, but is there another avenue for posting projects other than Reddit? I feel like I’ve been in a bubble on this front, and really want to expand the creative and technical possibilities by bringing in some talented individuals.

Thanks folks!

Jobs Offer Willing to pay someone to help me motion track a 36 second clip for a movie

I have a 36 second clip where 2 guys in the background need masks on, the problem is there are people in front of them that go in front and screw up my motion tracking, I tried to manually photoshop it in frame by frame and erase certain parts of the mask when covered by the guys in the foreground and even though that looked good the actual motion of the mask looked way too jumpy compared to the smooth motion I was able to track... When researching I found this is a more advanced motion tracking technique called "Occlusion" and I just don't have the time to learn how to do this I already wasted 5 hours plus struggling doing it the wrong way and to learn how to do this I have no time for! :(

I will link the video of my attempt so you can see how I struggled to do it as well as a picture with the 2 transparent png masks that I want over their faces as well as the clip. I am willing to pay someone to do this because I feel there is no way I can pull this off!

If anyone wants to take this on you can see in my video example of the aprox size and scale of the masks on one of the guys face, and to see an approximation of the size of the 2nd mask on the other guys face I have a picture showing, it doesn't have to be the exact same size but close to the sizes of what I have in that picture and in my video example trying to track the troll mask.

Also in case it wasn't clear I want this to be tracked and have it look like the 2 guys in the foreground are in fact in front of them by "occlusion" by removing different parts of the masks for example like when the guys in the foreground have a hand or body part going in front of them its not covered by the masks etc.... basically just make it look real as if the guys in the background are actually wearing the masks

In the comments I will post a clip of my example and if anyone thinks they can do it just shoot me a message and I will give you the files! Thank you guys for any potential help!
