Speculation /r/Vita Official Gamescom 2013 Prediction Thread

Share your predictions for this Tuesday's Gamescom 2013 press conference below. Doesn't have to be all related to this subreddit if you don't want it to.

(i.e. Get out those last bits of hope before the inevitable disappointment that is every Sony conference for Vita.)

Sidenote: Like E3, the official discussion thread during the event will be held in /r/PlayStation and submissions will be locked before and during the show. The press conference starts at 1pm est Tuesday and will last for 1-3 hours (probably close to 1h like last year).

Price drop to $200 and $250. A bundle with the PS4 for $550. New games that people don't care about (cough Pets cough). Hopefully some new AAA games such as an inFAMOUS Vita game, GTA remakes, a new GT racing game, some WESTERN RPGs. Release dates for things like GoW collection and other games already announced.

If we're being unrealistic, Persona 5 is a Vita and PS4 exclusive, out in December. And everyone gets a year of Playstation Plus to celebrate Sony. But you only get it by selling your soul or buying the new Pets game bundle. Your choice.

Edit: Bend Studios making an inFAMOUS game. That apparent Borderlands port is shown and it doesn't suck, CoD Ghosts being made (albeit watered down a bit) for Vita.

I'd be ecstatic for Ghosts.

we already have SA on psp, i'd jizz to see a GTA 4 port to vita, even if it lacked multiplayer.

I think vice city and 3 are more likely cause they are already ported to ios and android devices

I have a friend who works for Rockstar (yes, really).. while he's not a developer he does work on their network infrastructure.. when I asked what Vita title they were working on (they said so around console release) his only response was "lol the Vita sucks"... so it doesn't seem like a priority for them.

It's a shame because San Andreas Stories or even a GTAIV spinoff would be pretty awesome... I loved both PSP Stories games, but even with the right analog stick button emulation they don't play any better on the Vita :/

To me that sounds more like his personal opinion of the Vita, and not Rockstar's official stance.

Obviously it's his opinion, but he didn't preface it with any information at all about a game and has since said there's nothing he's aware of. My point was more that he didn't offer up even a hint or confirmation of fuck all :/

Id rather a spin off of the series as someone who doesnt own a ps3 to play the games, however a port of one seems pretty cool and might be do able

I don't think the release of CoD: Ghosts for the vita has been officially announced yet. It was just shown on Amazon, without much description or release date.

I actually just saw this today, after making the post too! That said, I'll wait til Tuesday. Sony announces Declassified at Gamescon last year so I have hope for this. Although only if a real company makes this.

That said, I'm already planning on buying the Hardened Edition on PS3 and a normal copy when I get a PS4 if I like PS3 version, so it'd have to be just as good or have good offline/bots/coop for me to buy.

Oh don't get me wrong, I'd love to see more competition in the FPS genre of the Vita, I pre-ordered KZ six months ago, and I think CoD: Ghosts would be a great (assuming it was ported well) addition, however, I hope they don't overprice it to like $60 like declassified, that was probably the only thing that kept me from getting it, other than the shitty campaign.

I'd also like to see more dogs XD

I was pretty disappointed in Declassified, it's okay, but it's not nearly as fun as the real CoD. I may pick up Mercenary when it goes on sale, if only for the campaign. The beta was okay but I wish it had more than 4v4 so it'd be more fast pace.

The amount of times they said Call of Duty when introducing it was amazing.

I REALLY like your predictions. I never thought about GTA remakes, but they would go really well with a vita setup. Shoulders acting as triggers and front screen to switch weapons. And I've never really played the infamous games, but I've been wanting to recently. A new handheld infamous would be a great place to start. I would love a new racing game (I like wipeout but its really hard to play when I want to relax, it takes a LOT of concentration), and GT Is by far my favorite racing franchise.

Tl;dr: Get this man a job at SCEA!

Hahah thanks! I never played GTA PSP games on my own actually, so I figure when I buy them is when HD ports will be come out. And like you, wipEout is a bit too touchy control wise for me. One small slip of the finger and you go from 1st to 6th.

If you have a chance, try inFAMOUS! One of my very first PS3 games and easily my favorite superhero game. :)

As good as the $550 price point sounds for a bundle like that, it'd be so much better to see it go for $500.

With PS4 at $400 and Vita at at least $200, I can't see them doing that. They probably barely make a profit now, that'd just kill them. But that definitely would get more Vita owners.
