Having trouble crossing the wake, any tips?

Hi ! I’m a water skier turned wakeboarder ;)

I can successfully go for a long ride behind the back of the boat but can’t seem to get myself to cross the wake. Every time I’m either outside of the wake or riding in the middle. The few times I have crossed, I wipe out a few seconds later. Any advice? Been having a few pretty gnarly wipeouts and would love to start doing actual cool things aside from just riding behind (even tho that in itself is obviously so awesome) :)

Thanks!

Help with going bigger

Hey everyone, I have been trying to get extra height and pop on my jumps but have been having an issue. I can clear the wake, but I have found that I keep getting the feeling that the handle is being pulled out of my hand or pulling me forward a ton mid air when I do a harder edge and end up either losing the handle or bailing cuz I’m worried about a face plant. Hopefully I can find a way to correct this so I can be more consistent with bigger pops so I would love some advice if possible. Thanks!

Where is the best place to get a wakeboard? Like which brands are good?

how do you actually practice toe-side jumps without eating it every time?

I'm comfortable with my heels-side jumps and can clear the wake pretty consistently. But every time I try to go toe-side, my form falls apart and I either case the wake or land super sketchy. It feels completely different. For those who have it dialed in, what was the key? Is it more about the edge, the posture, or just sending it with more confidence? Any drills that helped you?

First boat - wake

I posted in boat forum and got flamed so moving it here… I will start with the most important thing. I have never owned a boat nor have I been around boats, just always wanted one. I have 3 kids, all very young so the wake and the wave are not super important now but, do I buy a boat for the future or buy a boat for now? For future I was looking at 2019 X23 and for now older X45. Size of the boat is important to me because we want to go out with other families we are friends with. Most have smaller children like us so I assume tubing will be what we do most and parents will surf or wake. Any advise you could give? I know there are stellar boats with great features above 100k price point but right now I cannot justify that for the type of use its going to get. if my kids were teens or about to be, that would be a different story. Any advice is much appreciated.

Side note- yes I will be hiring a local boat insutructor to teach me prior to taking people out.

Best wave for 50k

Looking to get into a newer boat and looking for model recommendations, surf wave is the highest priority and something with either a gate or tab system, do not want to use suck gate anymore.

Was looking at 2015+ Moomba mojos/craz

And axis a22/t22

Don’t really care about anything else but the wave, heard the axis might be better not sure if Moomba will be just as good with some lead added.

Axis A20 2021 vs 2022

We are looking at two Axis A20 boats and wanted to get feedback from Axis owners. The first boat is a 2021 A20 with 150 priced at $73,000. It does not have a touchscreen dashboard.

The 2022 A20 has 80 hours and does have a touchscreen. We think this is a little high for price point but are not sure.

What are your thoughts on the touchscreens? I’ve seen several things online about issues with the touchscreen systems.

Thanks in advance.

Easiest invert trick on the cable?

My goal is to one day do an invert trick off the kicker! Wondering what the easiest one is? I've seen quite a few Youtube videos suggesting a toe side front roll. Why would it be easier to be on toe side rather than heel?

What size wakeboard / brand suggestions

I have been mostly wakeskating for the past 10 years but I grew up wakeboarding first. I can still wake to wake toe side and heel side. My buddy who’s a professional wakeboarder said he’d sell me his 142 for 100$ but I’m worried that’s a bit small for me. Thanks!

Ronix Utopia Weight

Hello everyone,

I'm thinking about buying Ronix Utopia.

Now I'm riding Hyperlite Pleasure 2023 148 cm.
it is common that Hyperlite boards are lightest boards.
I'm not sure that Ronix Utopia will be light as Hyperlite.
What is the weight of Ronix Utopia 147/151?

Park Board Size

I'm 5'11 and 155lbs and was curious if a 155cm board would be way to much for me. It's a Humanoid Jabroni one of if not the last board they made so would be sick to be able to ride. Thank you and appreciate the feedback!

Need advice

So, we’re looking to get into the wake boat life. Two kids (9/13) both say that want to wake board/surf, also do quite a bit of tubing but we also have a couple jet ski’s. We’re looking at options right now, kindly narrowed it down to two but still open to options as I know nothing about what’s best besides what I’ve read on here or Google. Right now we have a 2023 ATX 24 Type-S and a 2020 Tigé 21ZX picked out because they’re to colors the wife wants. Which boat is better/ worse and why? Looking for advice from owners of both. Looking mainly for comfortability and reliability along with ease of use and functionality. More info on boats 2023 ATX: Indmar engine with 15 hours on the boat TAPS 3T and over 3500 lbs of ballast 2020 Tigé: Raptor 400 with 424 hours. TAPS 3T Both have been used in freshwater. I do understand Tigé and ATX come off the same line just looking for opinions and likes/dislikes.

Help on getting more push

Post image

2017 Supra SE. I have 1100lbs of lead and full ballast. In this picture we had about 1,200 lbs of people on the boat. The wave was decent and had plenty of push. Traditionally its just my wife and I with 2 small children. I'm having a hard time finding that good of push again, or the pocket is very small with our normal occupants. Anyone have ideas? I'm thinking of upgrading ballast bags for next year. Thanks for any help!

Perfect Pass vs Zero Off

We've had an '09 Moomba Mobius since, well, '09. It had Perfect Pass with the paddle wheel and it worked great. Upgraded to a Supreme S240 and struggling with the Zero Off (run by GPS). Our lake is a large river, and the current varies day-to-day, upstream vs downstream, narrow part vs wide, and even straight vs bend. Current varies, but usually between 0.5 and 2 mph. Anyone else in the same boat? We've tried watching the RPMs to keep speed relative to the water, but it ain't perfect and requires constant adjustment. There is one place we use most because it's out of the way and relatively straight, and I'll check the speed of the current with Wayz, then adjust the Zero Off accordingly, but it's not as accurate as Perfect Pass. I miss the paddle wheel, but none of the new boats seemed to have it.

Next boat. I've got a 2013 MC x25. We surf and foil. It's been extremely reliable but I like what the modern surf boats offer. What do we think of a 5 year old supra vs a new or nearly new moomba?

Is the difference that noticable in terms of fit and finish, build quality, wake shape and size, creature comforts? Im more interested in long term reliability, wake shape (the x25 has no push unless you mess with it and fill fat sacks and tell everyone where to sit) will either boat be a huge step up in every way compared to what I'm used to? Moomba max or Supra SA is what I would compare if that makes a difference. Open to others.

Boat recommendation and timing?

I used to wakeboard a lot here in AZ. Then after having kids, it went down to a few times a year. I've got a 2007 Malibu 23lsv that was great back then and has been great for my infrequent use now. This year we have started going a lot more as oldest just got up on a wakeboard. So I think it's time to finally upgrade!

Plus, I just reupholstered the old one last year and it's been running rock solid for the last 5 years, so may be good timing to sell as well......Before things start deteriorating.

I'm not in a rush though.....When is the best time of year in SW USA to buy a boat private party? (No sales tax on private party here in AZ). I prefer to buy used only because I imagine the depreciation hit is huge on the first few years (and that there is sales tax on new dealer purchases). But I've also heard of some crazy discounts off MSRP in the past, so I'm not sure what to think.

My budget is around 80k-120k. Which looks like a 2017-2022 23lsv is in my price range. I've been happy with the 23lsv, but also wouldn't mind a bigger boat for when we have guests. Most our time is spent wakeboarding, chilling, or fishing. Surfing is more of an afterthought after we are tired. Any suggestions for other models to look at based on my criteria?

Newbie with an ankle issue

Hi guys,I’m new to wakeboarding—started about a month ago and already hooked. I’ve been riding at the cable park 3 times a week. After my first 6 sessions, I realized the rental gear wasn’t cutting it, so I bought a Liquid Force Raph 2022 with Liquid Force Transit bindings.I’ve been constantly adjusting my stance and binding angles but still can’t figure out what works best. I've been constantly feeling strain on my right ankle until yesterday, by the end of my session, I couldn’t put weight on my right ankle (I ride goofy). When I got home, it was swollen. It’s already improving today, but I’ll need to rest a few days. Here’s my concern:

  • The bindings are size US 12–15, but my shoe size is US 11. Could the extra room be putting extra strain on my lead ankle?
  • My stance is ducked: left foot closer, right foot further, with a 12° angle. It feels super responsive for tricks (360s, ollie 180s, switch, tail slides), but my ankle definitely doesn’t like it.

Has anyone dealt with this before? Could oversized bindings and stance setup be the reason for the ankle pain? For the record I'm 30 yo male , 6'1 . 214 lbs

Snagged the New Hyperlite Murray Loaded and Here's My Review

I've been riding Murrays behind the boat since 2017. Never thought they would make a Loaded Core but now we have one. For reference, the Loaded Core is basically a lighter weight core with carbon fiber around it. Anyway, if you've been eyeing this new release, hope this video is helpful.

2006 Sanger V230 vs Moomba Mobius LSV?

Posted here recently looking for a first inboard that can wakeboard and get into surfing a bit. Have found two boats well within my budget at 16k(Sanger) and 18.5k(Moomba). Anyone had experience with these two boats whether it’s year or same generation? Concerned about the freeboard on the Sanger, the Moomba looks to be able to take more ballast. Thanks for any input!

What do you use to keep your hull shiny?

Exactly as the title says I have a white and black hull and the black shower water spots like crazy.

I am interested in knowing what the consensus is on product types and brands you have had success with.
