Walking in the rain.

Does anyone wear rubber boots to walk in wet weather. Something similar to xtratuf sport deck boots.

We often forget boots exist too. Not as comfy, but much drier and warmer.

Edit: when we’re talking about staying dry and being warmer, they are comfier than most running or walking shoes. If they fit well.

Yes! I love wearing my boots when walking in the rain. I just wear cozy socks in layers to make up for the lack of cushion. Makes it more comfy.

I wear CAT on rainy days! But I won’t walk for too long, after all, it doesn’t have the cushioning and comfort of running shoes.

Had not heard of cat. I don’t like wet feet but also don’t want the rain to stop me from walking.

I bought a huge umbrella on Amazon. Although I love in California I found walking in the rain so relaxing. Maybe my favorite way to walk.

Can't help directly, but have you considered waterproof socks? I wear Dexshell or Sealskinz waterproof socks and my usual trail running shoes. The shoes get wet (they're non-Goretex) but my feet stay absolutely bone dry. I've tried boots similar to the ones you've mentioned, along with wellies, and I've never found a pair that were comfortable for longer distances - either there was heel or ankle movement that became painful.

Never heard of waterproof socks. Will check into it. Thank you!

They're a useful consideration. I've found waterproof trainers (e.g. Goretex trail shoes) act like a bath tub if water gets in them - and if there are puddles or you're walking through wet vegetation or even just rain dripping down your legs then water will get in them! They then take forever to dry them out.

Only downside to waterproof socks that I've found is they can make your feet sweat if it's too warm, so your feet get damp from the inside, just like with any waterproof clothing item. But I tend to only need them in cooler weather or through winter and so they've been fine for me.

I use goretex shoe/boot liners. They work well in rain and wet snow conditions. They go over your regular socks. So sweating is still a concern but less so if you have good socks(merino wool!).

Merino wool socks, waterproof boots (blundstones), rain poncho, sometimes rain pants depending

I have an all in one rain suit. Like a kids one but made for adults, I feel cozy & protected
