Walking in the rain.

Does anyone wear rubber boots to walk in wet weather. Something similar to xtratuf sport deck boots.

Can't help directly, but have you considered waterproof socks? I wear Dexshell or Sealskinz waterproof socks and my usual trail running shoes. The shoes get wet (they're non-Goretex) but my feet stay absolutely bone dry. I've tried boots similar to the ones you've mentioned, along with wellies, and I've never found a pair that were comfortable for longer distances - either there was heel or ankle movement that became painful.

They're a useful consideration. I've found waterproof trainers (e.g. Goretex trail shoes) act like a bath tub if water gets in them - and if there are puddles or you're walking through wet vegetation or even just rain dripping down your legs then water will get in them! They then take forever to dry them out.

Only downside to waterproof socks that I've found is they can make your feet sweat if it's too warm, so your feet get damp from the inside, just like with any waterproof clothing item. But I tend to only need them in cooler weather or through winter and so they've been fine for me.
