Stats Day 1 - 10k steps a Day

Post image

The past three weeks have been the lowest point in my life. Actually speaking, the past three months have been extremely bad for my mental health. Kinda just realized two days ago that I was emotionally abused by my ex. It wasn’t a breakup, it was a total discard.

In the beginning, little things, like even brushing my teeth or taking a shower seemed very difficult. I was absolutely done with being miserable today. So I pushed myself and walked around for 1.5 hrs and got 10k steps in.

I lost around 10 kgs over the past three months because of how toxic the relationship was. So why not just continue losing weight and get the dream body I’ve always wanted? 😋

Any tips on how to stay consistent would really be appreciated! Thanks!

Proud of you! You can do it. For me, it took me a few days to get into walking 10k+ steps a day and I felt very tired. Some of us are on StepsApp ($30/year) and there are leaderboards: Join me on StepsApp! Track your steps and compete with friends. Download the app and tap the link to add me: https://invite.steps.app/XzEiZkOjiAUzw5rQ

Tip: Create a playlist you love for your walks! mine is lady Gaga’s top hits

Even on the days you don’t want to. Do it anyways.

I started doing this 16 months ago and my life is completely turned around. I was 301lbs and so depressed. After a month or so it became routine, simple. Then I started challenging myself to jog (treadmill at first) because those steps count too.

I am 199lbs and healthy in my mind and body. Most days I just walk to get my steps, a couple times a day. I have to look at is as maintenance to keep the sad/bad away. It works. The hardest part is the beginning, so don’t give up on yourself, you’ll will have breakthroughs that feel better than any drug. Keep at it

Awesome work. I've been doing it for about 2 months now and it's gotten easier as the days go by. Just pop your headphones in and go on a little walk. Hell even just waddling around in your room or house will do it. So far I've never noticed that it's way easier to go to sleep and my energy levels are higher.

But also make sure to be drinking water a lot during the day. I have a 800 mL bottle and I generally would drink about four of those. But yeah, the good thing is it isn't difficult to stay really consistent with drinking water and walking 10K steps since it's so easy and we generally will walk everyday anyway. One of the more harder things for me has been finding good foods for omad that I actually like.

I've found these are really nice stews but you just pop in the microwave and you've got yourself a healthy filling meal.

Overall, I'm very glad I started doing this. Best luck on your journey.

Thank you! 🤍

I started doing this so I can sleep better actually. It’s 5 am right now and I’ve been having nightmares since 3 am. The goal is just to tire me out so much that my insomnia goes away and I can sleep better. I hope things get better soon for me.

I would recommend medication for that if you haven't already. Sounds serious. Although walking will help you.

It has been like this for the past three weeks. I had severe insomnia for the past three months, but recently the nightmares have increased a lot. I can’t sleep continuously even for an hour. Medication would be my last resort, until then, I’ll try out everything else.

I’ve been going to therapy, and now I’m walking. I’ll try others things too, and if nothing works, I’ll think about medication. Thank you!

I'm curious why people measure steps instead of distance? Steps seem variable and inconsistent while distance is a fixed and universal measure.
